It warms my heart and I am overwhelemed at the men and women who fight to keep us free.

Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner forever shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh how the last verse rings so true!
We pick our favorite hymns at evening worship services I think I'll pick this one just so we can sing the last verse

Thanks for posting this

Mine too. Today we attended a ceremony at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. I had been thinking about the brave armored guys who fought their way into a Baghdad neighborhood and rescued some pinned down buddies and then fought their way back out - using tanks and in the process earning 25 Silver Stars and rewriting the manual for using tanks in urban warfare. When we got to the "...and the Home of the Brave." line it was especially moving.
