Iraqi police have ordered Ahmed Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress to permanently abandon their office in Ramadi, west of Baghdad, INC official Haider al-Musawi said Sunday.
Police and INC officials are still negotiating a solution, he said, and there is no order to confiscate anything from the building.
The evacuation order could be something specific to the building rather than to the INC, al-Musawi said. Iraqi police had asked the INC evacuate at some point Sunday, but the deadline was not clear.
Two weeks ago, Chalabi's Baghdad compound was raided by U.S. and Iraqi forces.
The Iraqi National Congress is a group of dissidents who pushed for a U.S.-led war to topple Saddam Hussein and contributed to U.S. intelligence-gathering efforts.
Chalabi was once a close ally with the U.S. government and seen as a possible U.S.-backed leader of a new, post-Saddam Iraqi government.

Hmmm...not wasting time pushing him out the door.......
I think it will be found that as we turn more and more responsablity over to decent Iraqis that things will start moving along faster. If anyone thinks that the Iraqis are going to worry about being PC in this they are fooling themselves. And they damn sure won't be taking any pictures of what will be going on to get information out of their enemies.
I wonder if Chalabi is behind some of the revolts? He seems to want the US out of Iraq pretty bad, what if he's stirring up trouble. I didn't even know he was in Ramadi, that's been a hot spot for quite awhile.

That will include the execution of Saddam too I'll bet. I would think they'll want to get that done and over with soon.
I think you're right. But what does his ouster really mean? And do you think it's possible that he could be ousted without our knowledge and tacit approval? Is he now expendable, and if so, why?
I don't buy the argument that it's soley our State dept's attempt to stick it to President Bush, else he'd probably be out there front and center (or at least by proxy) coming to this man's defense, and unless I've missed it, that doesn't seem to be happening. Curiouser and curiouser, and very interesting indeed.

You may want to check out Chief Wiggles' post today at www.chiefwiggles.com. He has some harsh things to say about the corruption and real estate grabs made by the INC after the war.
Hmmm .. The Iraqis are ordering??
Gee ... aren't the liberals screaming that we are calling the shots for Iraq and the Iraqis have no control of their own country?
I will, and thanks.
Nice site, very nice.
We have obviously made the determination that Chalabi is not working with us, and perhaps never has.
I thought it was interesting and I trust his impressions. I have to wonder at the Wall Street Journal continuing to support this guy.
A point with merit though that other posters have made who are on this guy's side is: why hasn't he formally been charged with anything? Perhaps the WSJ sees it the same way. Although a reasonable dedcution of why not, could be 'stalemate.'
Sweet!
I'm thinking that a lot of Iraqis would prefer an execution followed by a fair display of all the evidence why they found it essential to get him six feet under.
The CPA has named Chalabi's rival, an ex-baathist, to be the new PM.
nothing big gets done by the iraqi gov without our approval yet, this guy was looking for a power grab and not for the cummulative best interest, and everyone said get the hell out
plus we are trying to reconstitute parts of the old iraqi army for stability so we can eventually get the hell out, well more like draw back to some large permenant bases and get on with the war on terror, who's next
