Cardinal Francis George has ordered priests to withhold Communion from members of the Rainbow Sash Movement. They attempt to receive the sacrament while wearing a sash signifying their defiance.
CHICAGO - The volatile issue of denying Holy Communion to Catholics who defy church teachings, a question already tangled up in U.S. politics, has spread to a new controversy involving gay Catholic activists.

Nope.
But one wonders how long it will be before Christians are obliged to take up arms in self defense.
Give it to them. Do they think God doesn't know when He's being mocked?
If you're catholic, gay and legally married in Massachusetts, are you still fornicating? Are priests permitted to marry homosexuals? They would correct the fornication problem, but not the gay issues. This is getting so confusing.
Deny Communion to them (the Priest would be aiding the persons in heaping condemnation upon themselves if they take Communion without a cleared heart, in defiance), then let them make spectacles of themselves. The American people need to be treated to a few doses of reality regarding the homosexual degenerates and their desire to degenerate society to their cesspool level. Time to pull their covers off and allow them to show their degenerate selves to the world, rather than covering them continuously to avoid dealing with their degenerate temper tantrums.
Communion should only be given to those who are saved. It is not possible for a saved individual to be this defiant of the Lord and what is right.
Why don't they just go off and start their own church?
The government cannot revoke tax exemption to the catholic church because it is a real church...not one under contract with the government as a 501c3.
Let the pedophile priests give the sodomites communion....
Its pathetic. Morals dont amount to squat in this country any more, Thank You ACLU, Thank You Abortionists. Thank You Hollyweird. And lets not forget to Thank our BJ boy Bill Clinton.
If communion is such a private matter, let them consecrate their own bread and wine.
So communion is a civil right too?
What's next on the agenda?
I wonder if they'll toss condoms at the folks leaving Mass as they did in Boston a few years back.
One of the most disgusting things I have ever heard.
Liberals rationalize their motives & thoughts by daily affirmations that the 'Bible is not really the Word of God', thus they are not to be expected to respect and obey those nasty parts, written by a 'bunch of old men several centuries ago', that weren't as enlightened as the neo-liberal, i.e., those that applaud infanticide, think homosexuality is 'normal', believe that atheism is a valid 'religion', and exalt Marxist-political theory.
Why don't they just go off and start their own church?
It's not their style. They much more prefer to spoil, ruin & decimate any existing social or religious structures that expouse decency; respect & obey our Lord's laws.
To recap: liberals are sanus-deficient.
Yes. It is a marriage that the church cannot recognize, as would be in the case of a father wanting to marry his own daughter.
And, simply put, you cannot be a Roman Catholic and be a practicing homosexual. You can lie to yourself and say that you are, but neither God nor the Church are going to buy into it.
Has the IRS defined what "real church" is? Why would they be viewed as any more sacrosanct than the occasional Baptist body that dares to snarl at the hand of Caesar?
That being said, I would hope that the issue gets forced and that the enormous political clout of the Catholic church would be the weight on the lever that gets the IRS out of micromanaging church policies.
So, they associate themselves with those who betrayed Christ? Imagine that.
Yeah, I can't believe they could be so theologically obtuse. Mr. Iscariot went and killed himself on Saturday, or so I am given to understand from the Good Book.
