The FBI office in Denver has received 'numerous' calls about the seven people believed to be associated with Al Qaeda pictured Wednesday in the newspapers.

Samuel Mac, manager of the Denny's in Avon Co., said two men-he subsequently identified from their photographs as Adnan G. El Shukrijumah and Abderrauof Jdey-came into his Denny's which is just off Interstate 70, Wednesday about 8PM.

One ordered a chicken sandwich and a salad, the other just a salad, Mac said. They were demanding, rude and obnoxious, he said.

They said they were from Iran and were driving from New York to the West Coast.

Monique Kelso, spokswoman for the Denver FBI office said they had recieved at least a dozen calls about the pictures.

On the other hand, maybe the FBI is pretending to be incompetent because they are hot on the trail of these guys and are already following them to the west coast in the hope they will lead to others. If the FBI reponded to the witness tips with the too much enthusiasm, then the bad guys might take a deep dive to evade detection.

A very good point. Feigning incompetence is something all our three-letter agencies do, and to great effect.

Xenalyte, related to use of sign up dates, this is sage advice from TankerKC a few months ago:

You guys really need to stop this bashing based on sign-up date crap. We WANT new people to join up, remember?

You need to redirect your chastisement elsewhere, as I am doing the exact opposite. A cursory reading of the thread will show you that.

TankerKC's Corollary to Godwin's Law

I had to Google-mind myself about Godwin's Law, but you are right, argument is then lost.

I think you have misinterpreted my statement .. I meant killing a terrorist in the context of encountering them or capturing them in the act of terrorism.

I wasn't even considering a random act of violence for the sake of violence. And .. don't be dissin' the red necks.
