Like a lot of you, I was willing to cut Nick Berg's father a lot of slack considering the tragedy of his son's death, but this is disgusting:
George Bush never looked into Nick's eyes. Even more than the murderers who took my son's life, I condemn those who make policies to end lives.

Now this guy is leading the A.N.S.W.E.R. March on Rummy's house on June 5. Hope the Freeper's in that area can get a good turnout.

He's an angry man who had to watch footage of his son being murdered. I don't think he's in the best position to be rational about global politics.

Yes...I'm cutting him a whole lot of slack. I'm not sure how rational I'd be behaving after watching a video of my son having his head sawed off with blunt knives while he screamed.

Hypothesis: This man was consumed with hatred before November of 2000.
Doesn't have anything to do with Bush.

There is a marked similarity here to the willingness of Palestinians to use their children as "martyrs" to futher their cause.

The Left has just gone bonkers. Bush-hatred has escalated from a set of ideological differences, right through anger, to some kind of insanity. They did exactly the same thing with Nixon and Regan, but it's still strange, and kind of scary, watching them flail around like this.
I agree that we need to cut Michael Berg slack. But it sound like he was a crazy idiot before the death of his son.

I don't think he's in the best position to be rational about global politics. And yet he's making sure to shove his mug into as many TV sets as he possibly can. Grief does not give one the right to demand our attention. He should STFU.

Ever see that anti death penalty movie "The Life of David Gale"? People will really go to extremes on some of these issues, especially if they have a towel on their head.

With everything that is coming out on Nick Berg, including Michael Moore's revelation that he had interviewd Nick Berg before he went to Iraq and won't release the interview, I am convinced that Nick was working with ANSWER and his father as an insider but the terrorists had other plans Nick Berg didn't know about.
The father has to live with himself the rest of his life with what he sent his son to do. No punishment could be worse.
IMO, of course.
To: r9etb
Look, this guy's kid was interviewed by Michael Moore's people while he was over there, he was detained by both U.S. and Iraqi authorities, the dad's first comment after the killing questioned the terrorists because his kid was the 'best friend they (the terrorists) had'. Charter member of ANSWER. Anyone other than me not sure we have even 10% of this story yet?

Definitely feel there is more to come out about Nick Berg. The Palestinian child analogy is probably very accurate.

Mourning is mourning.
Politics is politics.
This lifeling lefty knows the difference and he picked what's important to him.
Remember, his son supported the war. This guy is so whacked, he probably holds that against his kid.

It's called a "tantrum"...most spoiled adolescents have them.
Consult any good child psychology book and the usual cure for such tantrums is, to ignore it as best you can.
The purpose of a tantrum is to get attention, therefore getting one's way in the process. It's the same practice followed by terrorists.
So long as the "children" get their way, there is no need for a tantrum...however that doesn't stop them from being smug and bratty. The tantrum is a sign of desparation.
If lord effin of ketchup had a 20 point lead over Bush, we would not be witnessing all these adolescent outbursts, and liberals guests on talk shows and news programs would not all talk simultaneously. But, it's a virtual tie at this point, and that worries the left because they know it's a long time until the election, and we conservatives are out their...quietly dangling all those "un-surveyed" votes.
They are aware of the infamous "silent majority", and they know that "lord effin of ketchup" has nothing, nada, nicht, zilch to offer America. He would be like the mayors of many towns...a figurehead. Someone to appoint more liberal judges - who are presently running the country and making the laws anyway.
I say let them go bonkers...it's funny as hell. I've heard that if you slit open a shark and throw it back into the water, it will eat its own entrails...sharks must be liberals too.

and after that, Jeb beats hillary in 2008...that would just about cap off the democRATic party...of course, then we'd have to fight off the Libertarians...you know, the liberals who DO want a balanced budget.

He's showed no emotion though. Everything Michael Berg has said and done since the murder of his sone has seemed very rational and very thought out.
Why get mad at the President instead of the people who ACTUALLY killed your son?
Michael Berg, IMHO, is doing what most Libs/RATS do every day. Putting politics above all else. Style over substance. Even when it's the subject of a murdered loved one, POLITICS are placed above all.

I agree. I think Nick Berg may have tried to get close to the AlQ folks, out of 'solidarity', and they offed him because they suspected him of being a spy.
