Man With Ties To 9/11 Hijackers Arrested Alddin Taken Into Custody On Immigration Charges

SAN DIEGO -- A 34-year-old Saudi national believed to have ties with two of the deceased Sept. 11 hijackers was arrested Thursday in San Diego by agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Hasan Saddiq Faseh Alddin, a legal permanent resident of the United States, was taken into custody on immigration charges, resulting from two prior domestic violence convictions, according to Mike Unzueta, deputy special agent-in-charge for ICE investigations in San Diego.

Alddin was picked up near his residence in Vista, according to ICE.

The agency said the arrest stemmed from an exhaustive investigation by San Diego's Joint Terrorism Task Force.

"ICE agents in San Diego are working closely with our federal law enforcement partners to monitor and assess information related to potential terrorist threats in the United States," Unzueta said.

"We're committed to taking immediate action on intelligence we obtain to prevent another terrorist attack on American soil."

Alddin is believed to have associated with hijackers Nawaf Alhazmi and Khalid al-Midhar (pictured, left). The two men were on board the American Airlines plane that crashed into the Pentagon. In September 2001, Alddin roomed with a close friend of the two hijackers. The roommate departed the United States the day before the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Alddin initially entered the United States on a student visa in August 1994. He married a United States citizen and became a legal permanent resident in 1999.

ICE agents placed Alddin in deportation proceedings Thursday and he is being held without bond.

We are aggressively going after them, and it's obviously a coordinated national effort.

On the one hand, this is reassuring. But it also means that we're very worried about what might happen.

I think the administration believes there is close to a 100% chance of a major attack in the next 6 months unless they can thwart it.

They've obviously been tracking a bunch of these animals. Time to put them where they can do no harm. (As the lefties shriek to gut the Patriot Act.)

I wonder if this one decided to bug out at the last minute rather than commit suicide. Hopefully the feds at least have one of his aliases or something.

That's the thing.

If we thwart it, the 'rats will say, "see, the risk was exaggerated!"

If one happens, it will be Bush's Fault.

Deportation?

One of the difficulties of fighting these guys, within our legal system, is the difficulty in building a serious case against them.

Deportation is hardly punishment. But hopefully, we will be able to track him after we implant that chip into the back of his neck.

and even worse, if the CIA dared put a Robert Byrd style hood or a female sanitary item over a terrorist's head, that would be the end of civilization as we know it.

"Deportation proceedings" are just the legal pretext to keep him in custody while they grill the heck out of him and search everything he has.

.....two so far today we know about

And a third........

(May 27, 2004 5:34PM) PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Federal agents arrested a Muslim cleric in a raid on a Philadelphia mosque on Thursday and plan to deport the Egyptian national, officials said.

Mohamed Ghorab, the imam of the mosque, faces a final order of removal from an immigration court, according to a statement from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

"During the execution of the warrants, ICE agents determined that the conditions of Mr. Ghorab's bond had changed and he was taken into custody pending removal from the United States," the statement said.

Officials declined to elaborate. But local radio station KYW reported the raids were the result of an investigation into fund-raising for terrorism.

Ghorab's wife, Meriem Moumen, was also arrested but later released, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

If you are at all concerned go west young man, go west.

California has so alienated itself from the rest of the nation with it ludicrous public policies and it's reviled demographics that no right thinking terrorist would attack the Golden State. An attack on 3 of the 4 major (Sacramento, LA and San Francisco), metropolitan areas simply wouldn't terrify anyone including a plurality in California itself.
