In December of 2000, even though I strongly disagreed with the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to order a halt to the counting of legally cast ballots, I saw it as my duty to reaffirm my own strong belief that we are a nation of laws and not only accept the decision, but do what I could to prevent efforts to delegitimize George Bush as he took the oath of office as president.
I did not at that moment imagine that Bush would, in the presidency that ensued, demonstrate utter contempt for the rule of law and work at every turn to frustrate accountability...

This performance by Gore is illustrative of the truly hateful thread running through the Democrat Party as a whole. They no longer 'preach to the choir' they have hate orgies. Encouraging Gore who has lost all pretense toward being considered dignified to behave as a mad evangelical movie caricature is pathetic.
The entire reason for this hatred is simple - the liberal extremists truly worship the Clintons as demi-gods and will bring down anyone or anything that isn't one of the Clintons. To wit: all Presidents had to be tainted with the brush of adultery to expunge Clinton's behavior. Clinton's fecklessness in dealing with terror means that Bush must be equated as feckless and 'incompetent' to achieve that aim.
For Al Gore, he is too self-involved to see how he is perceived outside of this hate filled group of worshipers. Once the election is over, no matter who wins, he will be castigated forever to the sidelines.
