India's Election Miracle
May 26, 2004

Posted on 05/26/2004 10:44:57 AM PDT by Cedar

Greeetings in Precious Jesus name. Its longtime I have heard from you. Good news is we have a new government formed in India. Christians had real tough time last five years. God talked clearly that there will be a great change in the political rule at the Center and this will take those political pundits by surprise who would predict otherwise. It was fulfilled. We realised if church will not pray, the devil will have his way. You know, all the churches in India unitedly especially in Chennai fasted continously for 3 days day and night and prayed exposing and overcoming satan for the change because if we fail it will be another dark period for christains. Our battle was by prayers.

As you may be aware, in India, during the past seven years, ever since the BJP Government came into power, a reign of terror was unleashed against the Christians, especially the Christian missionaries. Many churches were burnt or destroyed.Persecution against the Christians continued unabated during this 6 year rule Some native missionaries were also killed & beaten severely. One Australian missionary, Graham Staines, was burnt alive alongwith his two sons in Orissa during 1999.

There have been numerous instances of atrocities against the people of God in India. However, when the people of God began to pray to God with tears as and when persecuted. God did hear our prayers. His grace was sufficient for us. We have seen so many churches pulled by the government for silly reasons. Painful tears of the Pastors, missionaries during past years which was never before in history.

MIRACLE Till 12th May 2004, the exit poll predictions by many news agencies indicated that there were chances for the present government to remain in power. When the election results have been announced on 13th to the great surprise of the people the Congress Party which supports secularism and which has taken up the cause of the persecuted Christians has now come to power. This is a great miracle God has done for India.

VISION Vison Lord showed me before the election while conducting 2nd day fasting prayer meeting from midnight 12 am to 5 in the morning. In the vision, I saw a huge Hindu Idol standing in front of the Parliament house and laughing at christians. It was like Goliath. People looked with fear and running away from it. After some time, I saw some flames of fire coming from heaven and many different directions of the world and hitting this idol. ( Its prayers of christians around the world ) Sometime later with big cry & howl that idol fell down and collapsed into peices. God made the vision come true. Praise the Lord. Thank you for praying for the National Elections in India . The Lord has answered prayer in an amazing way . The Hindu fanatic party which was ruling India has been defeated and the secular Congress led parties are now back in power. Psalm 75 :4-10

This result is an absolute miracle and definite answer to prayer . The Politicians and media are in a state of shock because nobody expected this amazing verdict . All the opinion polls and exit polls predicted that the Hindu fanatic party would return to power . But our great God who answers the cry of His people intervened in India and pulled down this cruel Hindu Government under which Christians had been facing great persecution. Exodus 3 :7-10

This election had been proclaimed as a historic and crucial one which would decide the future destiny of India especially in the area of religious freedom . People of God all over India and around the world had been fasting and praying earnestly for this election. And God has indeed answered prayer in a most astounding manner. The media has called it a political earthquake which has sent the Hindu fanatic party crashing to defeat. We are grateful to all who prayed for India in this crucial time . Exodus 15 :1-19. All our christian brothers and sisters, orphan childrens, missionaries convey their love and sincere thanks for your earnest prayers for our country elections. May the Lord bless you to bless India through your prayers. WE LOVE YOU.

We request your continued prayers for India and for all our ministries

I won't print the pastor's name who wrote this (for his safety). He is a very dedicated Christian pastor there in India (his native homeland).

Lots of prayer is what kept Al Gore from being elected in 2000. So to all Christians, we've got to be just as desperate to keep Kerry from being elected in 2004. Let's cry out to the Lord again in serious, serious prayer.

Kerry is for abortions and homosexuality, so for just these two reasons alone we need George Bush re-elected.

Will this change have a positive impact on the evangelization of the Dalits? Last I heard the Indian government was working to pass laws that would make conversion to other religions a crime.

I wasn't familiar with the Dalits until I read your question. Then read an article about them on the web.

I don't know how this will effect them, hopefully for the good. My pastor friend up to this point has not written hardly anything about the government there; usually he just sends updates on the work they are doing for the Lord in the local villages. So all of this is news to me (though I did know there was always a risk of persecution there for them).

Hallelujah! It has!

Hindu fundamentalist loss in India means ban on relegious conversions axed.

In the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Jayalalitha has withdrawn a series of political decisions taken in the last two years. The policies axed by Jayalalitha include a controversial ban on religious conversions.

Hmmmm. Best of Both worlds... Singh, a free-marketer (allegdly) as PM, and the anti-Christians thrown out. Anyone hear about whether Singh is a reliable ally in the war on terror?

Good advice. Bible thumpers have the word of God to back them up.

Exactly! This post is crap! Freaking unfortunate that the Congress is in power. The BJP is pro-US! The congress is pro socialist! Most Christians in that part of the world are commies or socialists.

Not the Christian I know! He is definitely not a commie or socialist. Maybe you don't know what a real Christian is like. (Obviously you don't or you would appreciate this brother from India's comments.)

I agree with you to a point. But the fact that a party that supposedly had so much support by means of propagating hatred can be out of power, if they don't deliver, is a healthy sign indeed.Let's wait and watch. I'll be more in agreement with you if they ruin India's economy, like how they haven't lost a chance to do so in the past.

For someone who travels the world and meets policy makers, you certainly don't spell very well.

I always get very nervous one one group claims to have a lock on their relationship with God.

This emphasises the fact that most Indians(esp. the hindus) are far tolerant than most other religious groups/cultures.
Imagine this: The people choose a Roman Catholic for the most powerful post in the country, the position ends up with a Sikh, who was sworn in by a Muslim president. This, I doubt, has occurred in any other democracy.Maybe this is the reason why many Jews and Zoroastrians migrated to India to escape Islamic persecution. What do you say?

'They', in the context of the economy, refers to the Congress.
