The real scandal outlined in this article is that the Democrats will clearly *drop* this line of questioning since it ends at Clarke...but were obviously going to splash it all over everywhere if President Bush had anything to do with that decision to permit the Bin Laden's to leave the country.

It's a classic double-standard. If their guy does it, then there is no issue. If our guy does it, then it is a scandal.

There isn't a single issue the dems aren't willing to bring up time and again in order to imply wrongdoing by Bush. From his National Guard days to whatever they can twist during his tenure, we're doomed to rehash it again and again and again.

This time, as you point out, this particular subject has been foiled because their guy Dick Clarke is involved.

I heard Joe Klein on Chris Matthews' Sunday show (not Softball) before Clarke testified and he said this story WOULD be an issue during the campaign, so he had a heads up on it. Must have been timed to be resurrected to coincide with Moore's work of fiction. Hamilton is a disgrace for his role in this.
