Given its record -- repeatedly electing both Daschle and Tim Johnson, thoroughly orthodox liberal Dems -- the state of South Dakota deserves some kind of dishonorable mention as the state with the highest proportion of disloyal, and/or stupid, "Republicans." We have a big registration edge in the state, and Bush won it by a fat margin. If Daschle is sent back to Washington by these teat-suckers and dolts, who care more about a little pork than about their country and are more interested in a handshake than a voting record, I will be throwing up for a week.

Johnson and Daschle were both sold as moderates in SD Daschle even goes so far to claim he is pro 2nd amendment there.

Alright. South Dakota is a predominantly Republican state.
We haven't elected a Democratic president in goodness knows how long. Our governorship is always always won by a Republican. Our congressmen at the state level are overwhelmingly Republican. Tom Daschle and Tim Johnson have kept their seats by pretending to be conservative Democrats.

We're a state that likes nice guys. Tim Johnson, until recently, has played that part well. Daschle's support is wavering because he quit playing that role. Now
Johnson's done the same.

Today, instead of playing the nice guy who gets along with everyone, he said that South Dakotan Republicans were like the Taliban. To make matters worse, he said it in a speech he was giving to show support for Herseth.

That will do some damage to both candidates. I'm not
sure if it'll be enough, but I think it may be.
