EATING OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF HER MOUTH.
The SAL Political Snitch.
Another lie?
Controversial SA state senator Leticia Van de Putte has been given a pass by the local media on many occassions when her conduct was outrageous. (See previous stories)
The furor has died down after an obvious lie in which she smeared republican senators over a "racial slur" that never actually happened. She got caught.
She laid low. The story died down.
When she and the infamous 11 democrats fled to Albuquerque to avoid a special session, she painted a picture that portrayed her as a modern day "Rosa Parks," and blamed "the whites" for forcing her flight. That race card was played, and then put to the bottom of the deck.
She posed as just a poor senator spending her own money to take a brave stand.
From the oppulent Marriott hotel she spoke with the Star-Telegram. Here is part of that newspaper story:
Despite the obvious comfort, Sen. Leticia Van de Putte of San Antonio, the chairwoman of the Senate Democratic Caucus, stressed that this is no pleasure trip. They came to New Mexico to block an unfair redistricting plan pushed by their Republican colleagues, she said.
"It shouldn't make any difference to anybody -- the senators themselves are paying for this, and not the taxpayers and not anybody else," said Van De Putte, the organizer of the second orchestrated walkout in 2 1/2 months by Texas Democratic lawmakers. "If it comes out of somebody's pockets, it's out of our own." (Star-Telegram 7-30-2003, Emphasis added)
Not true. She used campaign funds for that jaunt. If you are a contributor it came out of your pocket. The information that follows was gleaned from a campaign report quietly filed in January -- almost 6 months after the trip.
Until now, it has gone unreported by the news media.
Her are some of the things she bought, some of the places she went, and other expenses incurred during her pilgrimage to the Land Of Enchantment:

Leticia has previously told the Lightning that she will no longer comment on the Albuquerque trip. However, should she change her mind she is offered unedited space in this publication to respond.
More to follow from the SAL Political Snitch -- Only in the Lightning.

I guess this info would be available on any of the Texas Legislative Critters regarding any expenses they paid out of their campaign funds..... Some investigative reporter could have a field day collecting data and quotes from the Critters regarding who was paying for their extended stay outside of Texas during the Legislative Sessions......
FYI.....
Hmmm, she obviously likes pizza and burgers. I never would have guessed by looking at her jowls.
BUMPMARK
The list of restaurants shows how stupid she really is. She didn't eat at Rudy's in Albuquerque. Can you imagine that?
>>La Placita Restaurant,,,,208 San Felipe NW,,Albuquerque,NM,87104, 20030816, 62.08,food
Damn that place has gone downhill in the last few years. She should have gone to the Gold Street Cafe or The Frontier (and saved about $40).
Dang touron.
Somebody is SERIOUSLY confused on where Albuquerque is.
What is the San Antonio Lightning? When I tried to go to their home page all I got was something that looked like ebay.
Never heard of Rudy's when I lived there. Where is it?
This one is in my old neighborhood (except for that TX bit), but I never knew anyone who ate there (only about 4 blocks from my house):

Looks like a evil fat female al-Sader pig. Man she gave those fast food joints a go for their money, many of them must have been LV style all you can eat buffets.

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Texas ping list!. . .don't be shy.
No, you don't HAVE to be a Texan to get on this list!

Van de Putte can tell all the lies she wishes: he has the solid support of her liberal constituents in San Antonio. They will reelect her as long as she files for the ballot. She is their "heroine in chief."
I can't believe I typed that with a straight face. 8-|

This was all predicted when it was happening.
I must admit I thought that the resturants would be of a higher caliber than IHOP,WhataBurger & pizza since WE would be paying for it.
BTW We need to be calling her Van De Puke IMO
I have been to Lukenback and Muleshoe, but have missed Albuquerque Texas.
Fifty bucks of Whataburgers, munchies at 3AM?
