Hasn't Mz. Duddy-Burke already disregarded Catholic church teachings?
The true Catholics are taking back the Church from the friends of Hillary and Antonio Gramsci
Truth, properly and boldly stated, usually is.
``Oh, my God. Wow,'' gasped Marianne Duddy-Burke of Boston Dignity, a group of gay Catholics.
Apparently Marianne has no grasp of the God or Bible she pretends to believe in.
Oh, no, no, nonono. Can't have any of that, of course. [::rolls eyes::]
Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesar's. But give to God, that which is God's.
Moral issues are the purview of the Church. The Church cares about your soul. The Civil Servant's duty to the entire community does not overlap these issues in anyway.
She thinks the Bishop is a civil servant? Oh, words fail me!

Not this Protestants faith.
the last time the CHURCH went easy on gays we got alot of molested children.
Yes how dare the catholic church teach thier beliefs!!
why would even be a gay catholic (they must like fancy dresses the priest wears during high holidays) the unitarian church is always open, go join it.
Okay, Butch. Since when is a bishop a "civil servant"? He gets a stipend from tithes, not taxes.
Your existence is "appalling on so many levels", to me, Butch.
``Oh, my God. Wow,'' gasped Marianne Duddy-Burke of Boston Dignity, a group of gay Catholics. ``It's an appalling statement on so many levels. It disregards a civil servant's duty to the entire community.''
Of course, the Bishop is hardly a "civil servant", but instead a spiritual servant. The idea of an "apostolic" witness and adherent to the transcendant truth is beyond the understanding of those, so called, "Christians" that see the faith as nothing but a veiled apparatus for social improvement or change based upon a loose set of Enlightenment values.
In the thinking of such people, the servant reports to the General Will, not to God.
I was thinking the same thing. Since when is a Catholic Priest a civil servant?

It's been an emotional roller coaster," said Marianne Duddy-Burke, 43, of the period since the SJC decision. She plans to be married to her partner of 10 years at a Boston hotel in June, but added a clause to the reservation contract so she would not lose her deposit if legal circumstances change.
Google Marianne LOL
Interesting. Was just there this past week, and got the strong impression that Worcester is not in-sync with radical-liberal Metro Boston 40 miles or so to the east.
This confirms it.
Major props to the bishop.
Excuse me, I have to step out for a while so I can look for the definitive "Church teachings on inclusivity" the city clerk referred to. Is that something Jesus said, is it in an encyclical, or did I miss it in the Catechism?
Yes. And his point would be that this is a bad thing?
What's up with the Catholic Bishops lately? Whatever it is they're drinking maybe they could send the Republicans in the House and Senate a case or two.
She was talking about the civil servant to whom the Bishop was responding. What's shocking is they way they have managed to propagandize the culture in the last few years so that they can get away with framing the story this way. It's as if someone said, "The sun came up this morning," and everyone goes, "How can you say such a thing? That's just shocking."
