Has Kerry been TOLD (Clintons/Torricelli) NOT to Accept Nomination Before Autumn Polls Conducted???
xzins

Posted on 05/25/2004 5:40:32 AM PDT by xzins

Is there Any evidence that Kerry was served notice about his inability to make progress against a reeling President Bush?

The NYTimes power brokers can use all the Hanoi John Kerry, Kommunist Kerry, Viet Kong Kerry, Flip-Flop Kerry angles to DESTROY him and he knows it.

At any moment, Kerry's war crimes trump the Abu Grahib prison scandal.

They have plenty of ammunition to take him down.

His inability to gain traction despite the media's vicious, wall-to-wall attacks on Pres. Bush for nearly 2 straight months, should have the smoky back room Democrats extremely worried about Kandidate Kerry.

I think this thing about wanting to raise more money is a smokescreen. The dems knew that all along when they picked their convention date.

What's new is Kerry's inability to get anyone at all excited.

I suspect they've laid down the law for him.

I think your Torricelli comment is dead on-target. My nightmare scenario has long been that Kerry was just a stalking horse and that the DNC's *real* strategy was to get through the primary campaigns, generate lots of media attention and donations, then have Kerry drop out for some reason and hold an open convention at which Hillary could descend from the clouds to rescue the country.

But the flaw in this plan was that there was an outside chance an open convention might go for Dean or Edwards, so the Clintonians had to come up with a new strategy, and this might be it. If Kerry does not accept at the convention, the Dems still get to hold their four-day nationally televised lovefest and infommercial, and suck up all available oxygen in the country; then Kerry is nominated but doesn't accept; and four or five weeks later, citing "personal reasons" (Didn't he have a bout with cancer a few years back? Has he ever released his medical records?) he withdraws. By then it's too late to hold another convention and far too late to have any primaries, so a small cabal of DNC leaders gets together to appoint their candidate, far away from prying eyes (just like the college of cardinals picking the next pope), and lo and behold, they pick Hillary!

Doing it this way will accomplish three important things:

1. It instantly negates whatever politicial lift the Republicans were expecting from their convention and sucks the wind out of GWB's sails.

2. It puts Hillary at the head of the national ticket without ever exposing her to primary voters, forcing her to debate her ideas with other Democrats, or even having to speak directly to the unwashed masses.

3. From here on out, she can conduct her campaign entirely in the left-learning forum of the national news, using ALL the funding the Democrats have acquired for the final putsch.

So tell me, is this just a nightmare?

The dice are rolled and Kerry is snake eyes, the republicans better get prepared for this and have some ammunition to crush the witch.

Under current rules, Convention Delegates have one shot to nominate: at the convention. If the nominee were to step aside or die, or for some reason the convention were to adjourn without nominating someone, the nominating authority devolves upon the DNC.

However, the delayed-acceptance scheme will require a whole new set of rules to be adopted. The new rules would either permit the nomination to be made, but not accepted, for a time certain, or to permit the Convention to recess, but not adjourn, and reconvene in September actually to nominate Kerry.

The overlay on all of this is that the FEC would have to go along; its rules, also, don't really accomodate a delayed acceptance. Under the current FEC rules, a convention is defined by the nomination; either Kerry will be nominated at the Convention, or it won't, in fact, be a convention at all.

Omigod. I just figured it out. Kerry has never released his service medical records or the specific reports on how he earned his purple hearts.

So here's what happens: five weeks after the Democratic convention Kerry releases his Vietnam service records, and citing the combat-related disability he's kept hidden for all these years he drops out of the race, thus clearing the way for Hillary.

Oh, the national media would have a collective orgasm over that story!

.....have a deep belief that the Republicans are really prepared for this....hence, the constant hate attacks by the DNC towards this administration....and no strong defense on Bush's part....yet....

I do believe that if it were left to power brokers that Hillary would be the candidate. The only way to assure that is to make a decision outside the convention.

If Kerry is doing blazingly well according to the polls, then they will leave him alone.

If Pres. Bush is far ahead and has managed to rally the Americans to notice his great economy and his slowly successful strategy in Iraq, then Hillary will let Kerry go down to defeat.

BUT...if the President is still vulnerable AND Kerry has not inspired anyone, then Hillary will step into the void.

Kerry has been ordered, imho, to keep his hands off that nomination.

As the Democrats have demonstrated time and again, rules are for Republicans.

If the Republicans don't have FBI documents on Bill and Hill at the ready, they aren't fit for this fight. No Marquise of Queensbury rules in this one. This will be a fight to the death with no holds barred. Looking at the squishy pols in DC, I'm not encouraged. Not enough with guts.

...and you just know that the leftist media would smooth out the rough edges for the Dims, making it look all so "reasonable".

Be willing to bet that the Bush people are just waiting the time out...watch for a BIG news release about Kerry around Sept or October (bet Kerry knows about it and just hopes it doesn't come out)

Can you imagine coming to a fight with Orrin Hatch, Bob Dole, and Olympia Snowe on your side?

What do you get when you mix a Maine lobster on viagra with the tabernacle choir? an easily killed Rino.

It is to the medias advantage to keep the race even.

A one sided race (Pres. Bush) ahead by 10 points will not sell newspapers.

Polls notwithstanding, I see the President in an overwhelming landslide.

Kerry knows the skeletons in his own closet. FBI Hillary also knows them.

Let's hope that Rove also knows them.

Summer is upon us. Let's try to start making the name John Kerry synonymous with flip flop. I propose phrases like the following: "The weather was so nice, I slipped on my John Kerrys and read under the tree."

My problem with this scenario is getting Kerry to step aside voluntarily and without incident. I believe he is so power hungry (he's been living his entire adult life for the opportunity to be President) that he will not step aside gracefully, FBI files or not.

Then again, whenever I try to predict what one of these lefties will do in a given situation, I'm usually wrong.
