Georgia high court upholds conviction of Jamil Al-Amin, formerly 1960s militant H. Rap Brown

Jamil Al-Amin, the former 1960s black militant once known as H. Rap Brown, lost a bid in the Georgia Supreme Court on Monday to overturn his conviction for the shooting death of a sheriff's deputy four years ago.

In an unanimous decision, the state's highest appeals court said it found no reversible error in the trial that led to his conviction.

Al-Amin was convicted in 2002 of the March 16, 2000, shooting death of Fulton County Sheriff's Deputy Ricky Kinchen, 38. He was sentenced to life without parole.

Kinchen was killed and his partner, Deputy Aldranon English, was wounded when they went to serve a warrant to Al-Amin. The warrant was for failing to appear in court for charges of driving a stolen car and impersonating a police officer.

Al-Amin was captured in Alabama by U.S. marshals four days after the shootings.

When will Americans realize that many of the 60's black militants who took Muslim names REALLY meant it? They declared that they are terrorists.

Not to me it doesn't. But now I am really curious about his breathing status. I know that other old leftest lunatic Carroll O'Conner bought the farm.

Yeah, I confess. I'm curious too. Though I can't imagine why.

Was he a black militant or a Muslim militant? Or maybe a cop killing black muslim?

Here is a real headline: "Cop Killing Black Muslim's Conviction Stands - He Did Shoot to Kill A Cop". Interested parties want to know how this person could organize 36 Muslim Mosques and yet a person capable of murder. Many people think this supports the premise that in fact Islam is a religion of death.

Any priests shoot a cop lately? Have we heard enough about the sex scandals? (Which I find appalling and disgusting, by the way) - But I do see a double standard - Why is Cop Killing by a religious leader not an interesting topic for the news?
