It pains me to say it.....but I wasn't impressed or inspired:-(My 12 year old cat says the same thing when I dangle a piece of string in front of her.
To: Barlowmaker
It was very inspiring to Iraqis, the last thing they want to hear is Dick Lugar and Ted Kennedy.

The real significance of the speech is that he gave it. Somebody has woken to the fact that they will have no chance at the brass ring of an oasis in the ME if they do not start fighting back against the left, the right and the media. And not necessarily in that order.

Lugar = typical Third Way dufus. They sit on both sides of the aisle although most are Dims.

Karpinski reminds me of Max Headroom. LOL, great observation.
Maxine Headroom?

And how do you like that snide comment "characteristically"?
Anyone who denies there is media
bias has to be dumber than a rock.

Part of the Bush doctrine is that the US will lead and be submissive to no other government. This flies in the face of the modern democrat party which seeks to solidify its powers with a web of treaty terms and restraints on ideas and ideals.

NO WOBBLING here my friend, What, we as a nation, have accomplished, (Thanks to our troops the leadership of President Bush and the Military) in the past year and 2 months is simply incredible.
Since May 1st, 2003, we have seen a dramatic changes in Iraq
----------------------
Since May 1st, 2003, there has been no popular uprising against us
Since May 1st, 2003 we have rebuilt every school and Hospital in Iraq
Since May 1st, 2003 we have seen the Iraqi agree upon a provisional Constitution that guarantees Freedom of religion, Womens rights, and the basic building blocks of a Democracy.
Since May 1st, 2003, The Proliferation Network of Pakistan's AQ Kahn has been dismantled.
Since May 1st, 2003, Libya has turned over all of their WMD programs and is cooperating with us in the WOT.
Since May 1st, 2003, (AND THE BOTTOM LINE) The World is a safer place, Thanks to the leadership of George W. Bush and the legions of warriors who they call their Commander-in-Chief

This is a losing strategy, it would be like Pat Buchanan leading the Republican Party,... I would agree, except that the press and alphabet television media are on their side and will stop at nothing to get Bush out of office. Unlike Rush, who enjoys having one hand tied behind his back, our country can not persevere if much of the country continues to be exposed non-stop to this propaganda without hearing the other side.

Kristol has a certain disingenuous unctuous quality. He is a bit polymorphic as to just who is the current subject of his affections. In short, I cannot totally dismiss the notion that he is more of a courtier than a tell it like it is pundit. But I try not to be knee jerk about him. It helps in that regard not to watch him much.

Pukin Dog has pointed out that at the turnover on June 30, Iraq will have FULL sovereignty. THEY will award the oil contracts. THEY will decide about how much information to release on the UN Oil scandal. The UN will have to help because it is the right thing to do, and France and Germany can't pressure the US to grant contracts in order for help.
This was big news to the Kerry campaign, apparently.

This speech was meant more for the Iraqi people than it was for us. Believe it.

Were the audience abuzz and energized by it? I reckon yes, but wanted to hear it from someone who was there. It would be cool if you and your pals could do a no-holds-barred write up of it, sort of like real reporting. Then we take the POSITIVE report and fire it off around the net and to any media who care about the truth.

There is a photo if you have the stomach for it. It seems she is no better than her grubbing former boss, always expecting someone to give her something.

There is a leftist in our neigborhood who is dumber than dirt. He used to be a VP for Shell Oil and worked overseas for most of his lucrative career; he registered as a Republican when he worked because he knew he'd be passed over for promotion if he admitted to being a liberal.
So, for most of his adult life he has had to hide his political persuasion. Now he lives in SC, solid Bush country, and gets regularly bashed whenever he opens his mouth. I love it.
