The UN is a Failed Organization

The United Nations recently passed another blatantly anti-Israel resolution in support of extremist Arab Palestinian claims. There is no longer any point in entering into any serious dialogue with this organization.

In countless ways, over many years, the UN has proven to be a discredited organization, with lawless elements, which can no longer claim to have any moral standing. Very few of its 191 members can be counted upon to put principle ahead of crass expediency.

The hopeful vision that accompanied its founding in 1945 has long since evaporated. It was the United Nations that recognized Israel in 1947. Therefore, the UN has a duty to protect her from forcible extinction and to live up to and enforce the UN Charter. If the UN fails to protect any of her members, including Israel, then all that remains is a stench along the East River.

Mass murder has taken place over the years in a number of places, with no timely response from the UN. There has also been a UN failure to hold responsible human rights violators, and to oppose rogue states seeking the acquisition of weapons of mass murder. The self-interests of dictatorships, police states, anti-Western, anti-democratic and Arab/Islamic-driven theocratic hell-holes continue day in and day out to paralyze any possibility that the UN could ever encourage true justice. Here are just a few examples of major crimes that were ignored by the UN:

We've had UN peacekeeping forces throughout the world for years, but there is little evidence of peace.

* Genocide in Cambodia in the 1970s by the Khmer Rouge, estimated at two million people.

* North Korea starved to death about two million of its own people.

* Saddam Hussein gassed Kurds and slaughtered the Marsh Arabs, while devastating their fragile ecosystem.

* Failure to oppose the spread of WMD in Pakistan, North Korea, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Libya, etc.

* Moslem genocide of about two million black southern Sudanese Christians over an 18-year period. Currently, one million people in Sudan have been driven from their homes, with the threat of murdering another 400,000 by the end of 2004.

* Slaughter of 800,000 Tutsis and Hutus in Rwanda.

* Constant terror attacks on Israel, plus the usual calls from Arab and Muslim countries for the destruction of Israel.

* Failure to implement its own resolution for Syrian troop withdrawal from Lebanon following Israel's exit over four years ago.

The membership list of the UN's Human Rights Commission roster says it all. Included are Libya, Syria and Sudan - rogue states that support terror and major violations of human rights. This list is more appropriate for a lineup before a vice squad than for human rights guardians. The foxes are guarding the UN hen house.

In addition, it was recently revealed how Saddam Hussein figuratively 'bought' the UN under the UN's 1995 Oil for Food Program. He was allowed to illegally divert 10% of all transactions to himself and apparently to officials of various collaborating governments, including France, Germany and Russia. Also dipping his fingers into that "oily tithe" was none other than Kofi Annan's own son, one of those on the "Oil for Food" monitoring agency.

Entirely legally, the UN itself received a "commission" on all "Oil for Food" transactions. This became a major revenue source for the UN, giving it a substantial vested interest in continuation of Saddam's regime, under lucrative (for the UN) sanctions.

In return for billions in bribes and legal revenues, the UN and some members of the Security Council opposed any US military action against Saddam Hussein.

After all, why would they not want to drag on the search for a peaceful solution with more years of useless inspections. The Iraqi oil flowed out of the ground and the revenue from that oil flowed into secret bank accounts. Hungry Iraqi children became dead Iraqi children, and America became the ever-convenient "fall guy."

The record is clear. Too clear. It is time to stop the pretense that the UN is anything other than a hopelessly corrupt, ever mischievous, ever-conniving, ever anti-democratic, failed organization. It is time to stop looking to it for any honest brokering and to establish an alternative mechanism for dealing with the world's ills, and this time, let it be "by invitation only."

The UN must be radically overhauled in a way that requires member states to be at least on the road to democracy and all voting rights to be restricted to established, representative democracies. If not, it is time to put the old slogan into effect: get the US out of the UN, and the UN out of the US.

>>Rachel worked long and hard on this article. What say we give her her due?<<

Rachel Neuwirth,

Never think that the UN is a weak and failed organization! Not for a moment should you think this.

Remember these statements by President George Herbert Walker Bush ?

"[The war in Iraq is] a rare opportunity to move toward an historic period of cooperation. Out of these troubled times...a new world order can emerge."

"My vision of a 'new world order' foresees United Nations with a revitalized peacekeeping function."

It is the sacred principles enshrined in the UN Charter to which we will henceforth pledge our allegiance.

When President G W Bush refused to openly discuss illegal immigration, I started doing a lot of late night thinking. Why won't my REPUBLICAN President discuss the true meaning of "open borders" with his citizens?

The successful Mexican businessman or farmer in Mexico is not running across our borders in the middle of the night. We get the failures, the criminal and the uneducated people who are a drag on the Mexican economy.

NAFTA was designed to spread the manufacturing industries that were in America across Mexico and the other poor countries in the world, in order to bring those countries out of the hole economically while lowering the living standards in America. 95% of our Senators admit that they didn't know the contents of NAFTA when they voted for it!

Every treaty that is signed by a US President breaks down our national sovereignty because we are agreeing to do something with other countries that is judged by international law, not the US legal system.

Our REPUBLICAN President and Senator Lugar are trying to give the sovereignty of our coastal waters to the United Nations through the Law of the Sea Treaty. Any ocean vessels, US military included will have to be approved by the UN as being not over polluting or damaging to the worlds oceans.

We will need UNs permission to continue our oil drilling, the fishing industry will be under the UN "guidance". You name it and the UN will be the big boss of what happens on or under the hightide mark of the worlds oceans.

Of course there will be different standards for each country. The strictest will be for the most economically developed such as the United States.

We have many (One) World (Government) organizations in place already. These were not designed to help the US, they are for the other countries because the US is at the top of the heap.

America can only go downwards under a OWG while the rest of the world countries will rise economically and their standards of living will rise also.

We consider it normal to have our freeways, look at how many countries in the world actually have a high speed continental highway system with fuel, motels, and food available every 25 miles or less that cover their entire nation

Look at our educational system, even though the quality has been continually dropping (thanks to the NEA, a UN sponsored organization) for the past forty years, it is still one of the best in the world considering how many students are run through it every year.

So send your poor and uneducated to America. Let the American citizen take care of the bills while your country keeps your educated, hard working, successful people. In a couple of decades your country will have risen while America will have fallen.

This is what the UN's new world order is all about. When there is a mean line through out one continent, then they will move to the next. There's only seven continents and they have almost completed their task in North America, the world most powerful continent. The other six will be a cake walk.

A weak and failed organization? Not for one minute! Don't deceive yourself. Don't expect your political representative to tell you what's going on either because I doubt if half of them can think beyond the next election. The few who suspect it, aren't sure if it is okay to ask the top dog in their state, so blissful ignorance continues in our legislative halls.

Remember when President Bush was first elected and he paid off the US/UN deficit?
Remember when Annan Kofi had his personal visit with the US Supreme Court justices? (The first ever!)
Remember when Justice O'Conner said we need to look at International Law when making US Supreme Court judgments?

Where do you think the old lady got that idea after so many years on the bench? From her niece or the Secretary General of the United Nations?

I used to be very angry about what was going on because I saw federal and state financial controls being placed over my children. They will never be able to be as successful as I have been even if they were willing to work the long hours I did. The continually rising taxes and fees needed to support the "immigrant population" will keep them from it.

They weren't taught (intentionally) as much about civics and American history as I was. They willing accept homosexuals as friends. Their belief in the idea of "One Nation Under God" isn't as strong as mine is. They see nothing wrong with the failures from other countries coming here for us to support.

The idea of forced diversity has been drilled into them as acceptable.

Having neighbors who don't want to assimilate into the community any more than absolutely necessary doesn't bother them because they were taught that foreigners should maintain their own cultures whenever possible.

The idea of having neighbors whose first allegiance is not to the American flag doesn't really upset them! They will adept to the new standards without too much trouble, I hope and pray!

When President Bush jumped out with his plan to finance a new UN headquarters in NYC for $1.2 billion I wondered if his father had called the day before?

A weak and failed organization? Not for one minute!

Yes, officially there is two political parties in the US. But both working for the same cause and final result, a 'new world order'. If they were not working towards the same purpose, one party would have been continually screaming to get the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN.

The 2nd Amendment was put in place so the people could remove tyrannical governments. Our leaders have been strenuously working to remove it form the Constitution for decades. Yes, they will get their gun control when us old patriots are too weak to fight back and when there is only 1 or 2 percent of the younger population who have read and learned from Dad's history books. They won't be enough of a power to educate the rest of the general population about what the Constitution and the Bill of Rights actually meant.

Our senior leadership are the ones who have been promoting this one world government for a New World Order since the 50's. They are the ones with the authority over the newer membership in Congress and the Senate.

They are the ones who head committees, the ones who have the power to determine if a Bill will even make it to the floor for a vote.

Why are we continually re-electing men and women whose primary intention is to defeat the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

I find the idea of holding your nose and voting for the better traitor so sickening that I can't do it.

The Federal judges are in this mess also. They are the ones who decided that term limits are unconstitutional. They are the ones who removed our, the peoples, protection against this sort of treason. Term limits aren't an actual guarantee but it certainly would help.

To have Presidents, Speakers of the Floor, Congressional Committee leaders working for the United Nations plan of a new world order and against our US Constitution and our Bill of Rights was more than I could actually imagine until President G W Bush refused to openly discuss illegal immigration with the American citizens.

That kept me awake too many nights. When I finally came to this conclusion I tried in every way to prove myself wrong but there are just too many indications that I have reached the correct decision.

I hope I didn't ruin your day by opening your eyes too wide all at once. Exposing the corruption of our elected leaders is very painful to many patriots who maintain strong belief in their political party. Refusing to look at the truth will not make it disappear.

The United Nations is fantastically successful, which will be much to America's grief in the next decade.

Best regards,

"then move the UN to France."

I think the UN should relocate to Vatican City. As I recall the Bible states that the anti-Christ will rise from Rome.....be nice to jump start the "Rapture."

Israel has done more for the world in one peace keeping mission, than the whole U.N. ever dreamed of.

Anyone know where I could get U.N. flags printed on toilet paper, so that when the paper work was done, I'd really feel good?
