I've never been to Texas. Any tips on what to wear out in the desert while chasing a giant flag?

My husband can't wear a hat. We are talking serious wardrobe malfunction for him. I'll have to find one on the way.
We will be flying at sunrise. What is the temp up to about 10:00 AM?

The only thing you have to worry about is running out of ice tea but that's only for a few yours in the afternoon --- the mornings can be almost chilly.

No --- only if you go hiking and decide to stick your hand or feet under plants or bushes. Ok, tip for the pilot. Only land in a nice neighborhood or on an empty street. No desert landings. . . or the crew will surely abandon him.

Do I have to worry about rattlers and scorpions? Yes, most definitely! :)
If you are going to El Paso via Des Moines, you most likely will pass through Dallas and/or Ft. Worth. I'd just take I-35W and skip Dallas as it would be a little shorter that way. Then pick up I-20 west to where it merges with I-10 on the way to El Paso.
