NATIONAL BLACK JUSTICE COALITION FIRES BACK AT HOMOPHOBIC BLACK MINISTERS
NEW YORK The National Black Justice Coalition issued statements today firing back at homophobic black ministers. This comes after a group of black ministers, led by Bishop Paul Morton Sr., called on the Congressional Black Caucus to support a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages.
Bishop Paul Morton Sr. and other ministers of black churches should take a hard look at their church from the pulpit to the congregation and remember that the majority of black gays and lesbians attend black churches and not homosexual churches. said National Black Justice Coalition member Jasmyne Cannick. When tithes are given in church, heterosexuality is not a perquisite. The churches accept everyones tithes. Furthermore, ones sexual orientation does not supersede their race and culture. I am a black lesbian. I was raised in an African American household. I dont eat gay food I eat soul food, I dont attend a gay church, I attend a black church.
It is important to note that all of the black ministers participating in anti-gay marriage initiatives have joined coalition with conservative right wing groups that supported segregation 40 years ago. The co-sponsors of the Federal Marriage Amendment have a dismal civil rights record. One would have to ask why are our black ministers working with them? commented NBJC member Donna Payne.
The sponsors of the Federal Marriage Amendment have a long history of opposition to protecting the rights of minorities, said H. Alexander Robinson, a prominent congressional lobbyist who was recently tapped to lead NBJCs marriage equality campaign. I urge all African Americans of faith to look closely at the long term agenda of those who would write discrimination into our constitution.
NBJC is an ad hoc coalition of black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered leaders who have come together to fight against discrimination. The goal of the organization in 2004 is to build black support for marriage equality and to educate the community on the dangers of the proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to discriminate against gays and lesbians.

And so . . . the Marxist dialectic trumps the word of God . . . not.
Where do they get this crap. I don't get it, I really don't.
well dont forget that evil republican splinter group the dixiecrats..i mean um... the dixiecans ya thats the ticket
Could they have chosen a worse acronym than NBJCoalition, for crying out loud? National B*** J** Coalition?
Sorry...

[When tithes are given in church, heterosexuality is not a perquisite. The churches accept everyones tithes]
So, just because someone voluntarily gives tithes to a church, does not mean the church has to promote the tithe giver's agenda. If black gays are unhappy with their churches, then they should join gay friendly churches in mainline denominations which tend to be mostly white.
If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.
Where was their outrage when female civil rights volunteers were being mistreated by civil rights leaders back in the sixties.... thus leading to that splinter group known as the feminist movement?
IOW the manure that homosexual behavior is equal to discrimination based on skin color is not sticking. Thus, the homosexual nobody group has to stand up and label the value judgment of these ministers as "homophobic."
Was the USA during WWII naziphobic? The brownshirts were all homosexuals.
I submit this group is MORALPHOBIC, they fear being judged.
Nothing like supporting Homosexuals, when so may young black men are entering colleges with aids. Between aids and abortion the black population is not thriving.

That is all that needs to be said. They do not represent Bible believing Christians.
It is worth noting that fact is not mentioned in the article. The implication is they are "normal" people objecting. It is here at FR that the complete facts are revealed.
Yellow Homo-Journalism by omission.

If so, heheheh is all I can say.
Actually, it is very sad to see black people comparing their own courageous struggle for equality before the law with the "gay" rights - basically equating the neutral unchangeable position of race, with the chosen act of same sex sodomy. I think it's vilely insulting to all black people.
Let me know if anyone wants on/off this list.
