New Baby & Mother are fine. My sister-in-law delivered about a month early, which was a surprise. Delivery occured at 4:30 this morning. Baby's name is Gil, weighing 7lbs. 15oz. and 18 3/4 long.
I missed out on most of the party. Although it was one of those days that I felt like I was in a "fog". I was burnt out and the heavy traffic and rotten driving conditions only added to my weariness. I didn't have much time to recoup my energy during my short-lived visit.
Would you thank Walt for the umbrella escort to my car...it rained REALLY hard there. When I got to Hwy 7 to turn right I had to swing a lane over to the left to avoid 8-12" inches of water, which was over the curb. Before I left I made a joke that I may need a boat to get home...well, I almost did. The rain let up in Tacoma but I-5 was a mess because a few miles ahead there was a mess in the road. A couple of broken storage containers had landed on the lanes and slowed traffic, which backed up the freeway for a few miles. I couldn't help but think of all the many times I'm stuck in traffic and think this is another tribute to "Gary Gridlock". Since we are in a land where alternative routes offer little of no relief. (rant/off).
C'ya all next time!
YOu are a model father, husband, and FReeper! :) Love ya, ASD!
