BOSTON - John Kerry (news - web sites) is considering delaying his acceptance of the Democratic presidential nomination at the party's July convention so that he can keep spending the millions of dollars that he raised during the primaries, The Associated Press has learned.
If Kerry were to delay acceptance of his nomination for a month, he would even the playing field with President Bush (news - web sites), who is planning to accept the nomination at the Republican National Convention five weeks later. The party convention would still be held at the end of July, but Kerry would officially accept the nomination at a later date under such a plan.

"I actually accept the nomination, before I officially accepted it."
Gonna make the convention a little anticlimactic, don't you think?

Sounds down right Clintonian doesn't it? Ain't gonna happen. What would he say in his DNC "acceptance speech"?
To: Howlin
Let him do it.
He'd be playing with fire in so many ways.

What does he say in his acceptance speech? Depends on the definition of acceptance doesn't it?

Crap is right, and the press will infer that it is brilliant strategy. If a Republican nominee did this, all hell would break loose.!!

Thank you God...this would be so classic...Bush landslide.

I am smell a brokered convention here to bring the hilda beast in. I think Kerry is well aware that he has a no confidence vote from the liberal base, and knows that he cannot bring anyone else in so he will delay accepting at that convention... let it carry for a few weeks and then suddenly announce that he can no longer accept the nomination, and then the will bring in the beast. It is a classic example of the Torricelli Gambit run last time. hold the candidate till that last and then change giving the competition little time to react.

This is being done so that the indicisive flip-flops on a Veep nominee can take place without the public having to hear about it.

I thought that both Bush and Kerry had stated that they weren't going to take federal funding. I guess I was wrong.

The Democrats just make it up as they go along, don't they? To hell with rules, traditions, history, abiding American values, all that stuff.

Somebody should tell him to just go to the most upscale strip club he can find. I hear you can spend over $20k per night there, especially if you like buying expensive champagne.
