After the January elections, I'd say the chances are at least 75% that we won't be happy with who ends up running the place.

Syria controls Lebanon and Iran's ruling islamic party (can't remember if it's Shiites or Sunnis) will control Iraq eventually.

It depends on our Nov election.
If John F'n Kerry is elected he'll order Saddams release, issue an apology to him,
and have him reinstalled as dictator of Irag.

According to the Iraqi Constitution it will be run by the person who posts the most vacuous vanity post on Free Republic.
The competition is too fierce to predict the winner yet.

Nah, they'd never put Koppel in charge.

Let's rephrase that:
"After the US November elections, I'd say the chances are at least 75% that we won't be happy with who ends up running the place."
Whoever they pick, it cant be as bad as, say, Hillary!

h. moderate pro-democracy political parties.
IMHO 50/50 chance of getting "h", a good outcome. low chance of saddam, despots or real bad elements getting in via elections (they may try to shoot their was to power, but nobody likes them). Some chance of shiite cleric like alSadr having influence.

One cool thing to do
is split the country in two,
North and South Iraq,
then give DU North
and FR South. Ten years on,
whichever country
has the most thriving
economy gets it all,
and the losing side
also must shut down
their website. Imagine that --
an FR country!
