"...I seriously wonder if we REALLY SHOULD pick a day (June 21?) to flood the emails, faxes, and phonelines of Peter Jennings, Barb Streisand, and their ilk demanding polygamy
Careful here, they wouldn't see the sarcasm, thay would take it seriously, or as a challenge."
My gut feeling is most people would get it, and the cluelessness of the big media would become even more apparent.
The best thing would be to upset very, very liberal women.

arrrgh! isn't one enough???the toilet seat would never be down.
WHAT??? Dude, you are smoking CRACK! I never so much as MENTIONED bestiality.
I dont care how you brigham, just bring em young!
Also, the patriarchs having more than one wife (they were not sinless as far as I know) have no bearing on it.
Yes, it does.
Did the patriarchs practice bestiality?
Does the Mosaic Law condone the practice of bestiality?
If you see any moral equivalency between bestiality and polygamy, then you will have to argue with someone else.
I don't argue with people who deny the obvious.
WHAT??? Dude, you are smoking CRACK! I never so much as MENTIONED bestiality.
Obviously, you dont read carefully before you post.
The first post where I mentioned the patriarchs deals with why I think there is no moral equivalency between bestiality and polygamy.
Trying following the thread.
No
Now that's just sick. Have you no shame?
Which only says that Bathsheba did not have two husbands.
David had many wives. Look up the story of Absolom in 2 Samuel.
I can handle all that but the housework.
Laundry and dishes are my limit.
That was my point. I'm glad at least someone got it, but I suspect you already knew the story quite well.
With a name like Nathan, you probably read about this great prophet several times before.
I can't even imagine having ONE wife sheesh.
Of course you know this is common among wealthy Muslims.
In all seriousness though, I have no problem with allowing this, as long as all gov't benefits for the spouse's are the same as would be for one spouse (ie 3 wives each get 1/3 of any death benefit etc.) It wouldn't be allowed by my church but as a strictly legal matter I don't have any problem.
eHarmony was WAY too structured for me.
Now AdultFriendFinders.com... (just kidding)
Why not give women the right to marry more than one man? Maybe the current Mr. Joe Republc would appreciate some help around the house.
Really, I'm a team player as much as anyone.
In my long, eventful and varied life I once tried having two wives in the same household. I came away from that with some new lessons learned:
1) If you ever get the chance to try polygamy, don't-- because...
2) It is absolutely impossible to please two women at any one time.
3) Such a relationship probably cannot be successful in the world of today since the wives (or husbands, if you will) must be completely subservient to the husband-- not very likely anymore.
4) In spite of claims by those who have so little of it they must ration it carefully, love cannot be divided, only multiplied
We were together for several years and raised three children. When it became apparent that the women could no longer get along with each other one chose to leave. I still miss her.
Now see, this is where you are wrong. I immediately cross the "stud" of the herd off my list. I don't like the competition and feel that there's more to the guy who is normal looking than meets the eye. I am usually right. The "stud" of the herd is usually a major loser.
Just...ewwww
"And one to talk with. :)"
Sure, bring me a beer. Yes dear, sure, no problem...you bet, now can't you see that the game is still on?? Oh, and what's for lunch?
See..we all communicate....LOL
I would LOVE to have a wife or two...they could help me with: Laundry, errands, bill paying, grocery shopping, kids' homework. I'd be free to pursue my hobbies, read, have more frequent intimacy with hubby...
Of course, they'll be fat and ugly.
