Four decades separate the war in the jungle from the war in the desert, yet the current president from Texas sounds eerily similar to another president from Texas.
George W. Bush says, "Now is the time, and Iraq is the place." Lyndon B. Johnson said, "The time is now, and the place is Vietnam." Bush says, "Bring 'em on." Johnson said, "Nail the coonskin to the wall."
Bush says, "We are fighting that enemy in Iraq... so that we do not meet him again on our own streets, in our own cities." Johnson said, "If we quit Vietnam, tomorrow we'll be fighting in Hawaii, and next week we'll have to fight in San Francisco."

*---The Swiss cantonal system for Iraq's three or more component parts is probably the best bet for a new constitution. ---*
I agree too--one of the very few things I agree with *Churchillbuff* on.
Yes,I have noticed that. It's the same "trick" that the MORE CONSERVATIVE THAN THOUERS use.
And remember,he claims to be an "independent thinker".
Maybe the sarin gas will keep him out for a few more days. Whenever he pops back up through we'll have to try and get him to give an answer (straight out of CNN or Soros I'm sure).
Oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.......
Dang, you beat me to it!!
Actually SF is left of communism. I don't think even the Vietnamese communists would have truck aggressive "gay" activism. Is there same-sex "marriage" in Hanoi? Newsom makes Ho Chi Minh look like a right-winger.
He's back to LBJ and Frisco. Next he'll be talking about Nixon's Checker's speech.
That has to be one of THE most peculiar things EVER posted to FR and I've been here fore a very long time and seen some doozies.
Thanks.
Or Wilson's League of Nations speech?
Excellent...and so appropriate for him.
I've asked and asked and asked that of him so many times, that I've lost count on just how many times I've posted that query to him.
Johnson didn't have 9-11 to back up his statement.
Yes,isn't? :-)
Amazing that he is so unwilling to defend his self proclaimed convictions...unless he doesn't have the courage of his convictions.
Shhhhhhhhhhhh...he's madly Goggling, to find something else to CCP.
"We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again. We are resolved that the method of consultation shall be the method adopted to deal with any other questions that may concern our two countries, and we are determined to continue our efforts to remove possible sources of difference, and thus to contribute to assure the peace of Europe."
"My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time... Go home and get a nice quiet sleep."
Post #118. Beat him to it.
So I see. :-)
