A political quagmire for Bush
The State ^ | May 16, 04 | Dick Polman

Four decades separate the war in the jungle from the war in the desert, yet the current president from Texas sounds eerily similar to another president from Texas.

George W. Bush says, "Now is the time, and Iraq is the place." Lyndon B. Johnson said, "The time is now, and the place is Vietnam." Bush says, "Bring 'em on." Johnson said, "Nail the coonskin to the wall."

Bush says, "We are fighting that enemy in Iraq... so that we do not meet him again on our own streets, in our own cities." Johnson said, "If we quit Vietnam, tomorrow we'll be fighting in Hawaii, and next week we'll have to fight in San Francisco."

*---The Swiss cantonal system for Iraq's three or more component parts is probably the best bet for a new constitution. ---*

I agree too--one of the very few things I agree with *Churchillbuff* on.

4) Is the man,who made the snuff film, staring himself As Nick Berg's beheader, not only a close personal pal of UBL,but heading up a group of terrorist in Iraq as well?

Neville here thinks the beheading happened in Egypt. Never mind that the man was taken from Iraq and the body was found in Iraq.

The other evening when I exposed his lies about Churchill he stormed off with a red face and in a huff and didn't come back for a few days.

Maybe the sarin gas will keep him out for a few more days. Whenever he pops back up through we'll have to try and get him to give an answer (straight out of CNN or Soros I'm sure).

LBJ was right, we ARE fighting communists in San Francisco.

Dang, you beat me to it!!

Actually SF is left of communism. I don't think even the Vietnamese communists would have truck aggressive "gay" activism. Is there same-sex "marriage" in Hanoi? Newsom makes Ho Chi Minh look like a right-winger.

Hi folks. Since Chamberlainbuff here seems to be a little shy to get another spanking from me in public, perhaps someone else could ask him his opinion regarding the sarin gas shell, capable of killing hundreds, used against our troops.

Thanks.

Johnson didn't have 9-11 to back up his statement.

Guess we will just have to keep asking.

Amazing that he is so unwilling to defend his self proclaimed convictions...unless he doesn't have the courage of his convictions.

"We, the German Führer and Chancellor, and the British Prime Minister, have had a further meeting today and are agreed in recognizing that the question of Anglo-German relations is of the first importance for our two countries and for Europe."

"We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again. We are resolved that the method of consultation shall be the method adopted to deal with any other questions that may concern our two countries, and we are determined to continue our efforts to remove possible sources of difference, and thus to contribute to assure the peace of Europe."

"My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time... Go home and get a nice quiet sleep."
