Alright, please at least read this before the "OMG liberal hippy potsmoker haha" starts.
I am an American. I was born here in the USA, my dad is from here as well. My mom came here from South America when she was a small child, and so I've grown up hearing about how wonderful this country is-- she tells us the story of how she got her citizenship regularly, as well as how she was the only one to stand for the pledge of allegiance at school(Massachusetts in the late 60s), and many other such stories. I love my country, I respect my government, and I respect our history as a nation. However, I am not a conservative. In my opinion, the great men who founded his country were liberal, the great leaders of this nation have been liberal, and I am liberal. I did not support the beginning of the war in Iraq, but I support our troops. Even in a war that I do not support, I believe that the greatest thing you can do for your country is serve it, whether in the military, the government, the education system, or whatever your specialty may be. I believe in the Constitution of the United States, freedom of conscience, speech, assembly, and all the other rights given within the constitution and bill of rights. I believe in a right to shelter, education, healthcare, and food. I do not believe in handouts. I believe in hard work, but I do not believe the people of the richest nation on this planet should go hungry. The children of our nation should not die of hunger or curable illness. I love the environment, but I drive, and I use the other resources of the Earth. I eat meat. I believe that this planet is beautiful and it should be preserved, but I do not believe we should destroy our economy to protect it. I believe that all humans deserve freedom, respect, and tolerance. I am not religious, but I respect other's religion. I am not gay, but I respect the right to be gay. I do believe in the seperation of church and state. I do not like President Bush. I believe that his actions with the war in Iraq, the patriot act, legislating morality through an attempted ban on gay marriages, and almost every other thing he has done goes against [i/]my[/i] America.

That is the problem with liberals, they hate George W. Bush because of what he stands for, only because they stand for nothing. What would this liberal suggest we do about the religious fanatics who want to kill all nonbelievers? Ignore them just as they have every ruthless dictator in history?
Discuss? I will say that I agree with some of your points, but not all. I do know that some great leaders from our past were anything but liberals, including some from the democrat party. Liberal today is something entirely different than it was in say President Kennedy's time.
President Bush has been LIED ABOUT, and if you would care to get past your prejudice and what you think you know about republicans, you might find that out. But I have about given up hope that any of you from the left side care about the truth, and have no interest to really educate yourselves on what is really going on in Iraq, not the media's version, but the actual soldiers version, and why we are there, and what the enemy really is about.
Go ahead, make my day, and maybe save your own butt, be different, really try to learn the truth. President Bush is doing his duty to this nation, providing for our defense. Someday the truth will be known, and some of you liberals will hang your heads in shame, that is if they are still attached to your bodies, and not sawed off by Islamic terrorists who want to kill us all.
Who's enslaving anyone? The issue is, people are dying in this country because "pukes" like me aren't getting through to the people of america.
