Something positive in the News for a change. Thank God for Fathers like him.
A pediatrician found the girl free of any illness, any signs of physical or sexual abuse - and no cavities. A criminal background check came up empty, according to police reports.
Even though the child and father lived for such a long time disconnected from society, the girl had been home schooled and was in good physical shape.
Perhaps that last tells us all we need know ... because the father raised his daughter as a Christian and wasn't relying on the bureaucracy and was not answerable to same, yet he had done a superb job of caring for and educating his precious daughter, his example must not be allowed to be perceived as 'conditions acceptable'.
I surprized that the homosexuals didn't run them out! They have practically taken over every other public park, with their "monogamous"- multiple unions!
Glad to be of service.
:o)
Why?
Just pointing out someone WITH Morals and Integrity.
And saying Kerry is lacking in both.
Here's a question: Whould you choose to let your 17/18 yr old daughter spend the night at
A: The Kerry Residence
B: The White House
Here's a question for you. Why follow a good observation with a bad question?
Evidently way advanced compared to Publicly Schooled Police Cmdr Anderson
It's probably fortunate that she was missing interaction with her peers.
12 y/o's are much more influenced by their peers, then parents, and todays "tweens" are rife with promiscuous/drug addled/dumbasses within their ranks.
The father was SPOT ON, and should have been left alone - imagine... given a couple more years, she could have been at a COLLEGIATE level (sans the socialist indoctrination) - at 14.
See the movie "Nell".
I've seen it and enjoyed it. But then, I'm a Jodie Foster fan. At three score, ten and more, I still have a fantasy that I can put her on the right track.
Of course not. But in this case until they checked them out they had no way of knowing that she really was his daughter. Sadly the days of being able to take people at face value are long gone.
Lovely story. Ruthie has a very special dad and it sounds like he is raising an exceptional daughter.
In the mid 70s my wife and I kept foster children. We had a 4 year old girl named Carmen. We had Carmen and my two boys just a little older than her. We were at the park and the boys were swinging and sweet little Carmen walked right in front of one of them and caught a foot right in the mouth. it cut her tongue and she was bleeding quite a lot so I took her to the hospital.
The medical people questioned me on what had happened and then they tried to get Carmen alone to question her. The problem arose when she would not let go of me to go somewhere else without me. They finaly forced her from my arms but got absolutely nothing out of her because she wouldn't quit screaming until she was back in my arms.
I think Carmens actions should have cleared me as a suspect don't you? and it did by the way. They treated her and let us go.
I'm calling that one. Twelfth grade equivalency in what subjects? Calculus? Biology? Foreign languages? English lit? Chemistry? Networking? OOP? Performing arts? Child care? Research methods? Lots of subjects are taught in high school, and there's no such thing as across-the-board "equivalency." Of course, if you're just looking for ammo to discharge at the public school system, that statement will do just fine.
There are tests which are used in Oregon that they may have given the girl when evaluating her, from one oregon website there was this snippet: A score < 230 on Oregon BASIS or below 8th grade equivalency on other standardized tests (i.e., CASAS)...etc. So my guess is that, during the time from when she was found until they moved she was tested to see her compentency level to determine whether or not she should be placed in an age similar grade or elsewhere.
"I still have a fantasy that I can put her on the right track."
What is about Maryland, that it should habitually spawn such hopeless dreamers?...;))
It's one of my favorite movies, especially since the do-gooder intellectuals come to realize that not only were they wrong, the "ignorant" Nell was a helluva lot brighter than they were, where it really counts.
With her back against her own mountain,
Salamander
How in the name of Hell did a human being end up on the police force?
Do you have any idea how inane this sentence sounds?
Only a socialist would think that criticizing squatters for appropriating public land for private use is inane.
