No Olive Branches Bump...
Yes, considering, sadly, that many Americans get their news and political info from Jay Leno. I think Bush himself should go on there when things die down a little.
No, I didn't see the thread. Could you ping me to it? THANKS!
Jay asked her if she thought she could take on TARAYYYYZZAA when she showed him her muscle. She just laughed.
RE: No olive branches . . . that's really interesting. I bet it's NOT by chance, and it is a good message they are sending!
Yes, it's sad that so many people get their "news" from the talk shows. But I think it's very smart that Laura goes on there, and Regis and Kelley, and so on. The people who watch are people that either might not vote, or are too caught up in the "anyone but Bush" camp, so IMO all it can do is HELP. And I agree, I think the President should go on too, so people can see the 'real' person.
LOL! Sounds like something Jay would ask!
Sorry I was late but will do!
Hello everybody,
I love the pictures of the First Lady!!! What was she talking about by the way? Do you know where one can find a transcript?
Good thing they added the Left reference because it would have been hard to tell which was the basketball player.
Where is everybody?
I think I have the place allllll to myself! ;O)
I think I'll jump up and down and skate down the hallway and do acouple of flips! HEE! HEE! HEE!
BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of our most entertaining and fun First Ladies through out American history!
I'm talking about the wife of out 4th president James Madison.
Anyway Dolley Payne Todd Madison was born on this day in 1782. so!
Somehow, it's not surprising that it was Ohio's entreaty to which you responded. She's a blessing.
Thanks, Ohio.
Personal FirewallsIf you are running a 'personal firewall' such as ZoneAlarm or BlackIce Defender, please read the following very carefully Normal trafficThere is a huge amount of background traffic on the internet. The majority of the alerts your personal firewall shows are normal background traffic. Nothing to worry about, nothing to notify anyone else of, nothing worth investigating. Worms attacking IIS webserversThere are a number of worms that try and infect machines on the 'net. If you're running a Windows machine and not running IIS you have nothing to worry about. One thing that means is that if your personal firewall tells you that you have attempts to connect on port 80 it may well be traffic from one of these worms. Don't worry about it. Don't notify anyone about it. 'Alerts' are not something to worry aboutIf your personal firewall pops up an alert, there is never any reason to worry about it. Never, ever, notify an abuse desk about it. It merely wastes their time, and yours. Don't let your personal firewall alarm youAnd finally, most personal firewalls are snake oil, intended to separate money from those who don't understand the issues involved. That means that they will alert you about perfectly normal network traffic, even though there is absolutely no need to do so, in order to encourage you to upgrade or pay for 'Pro' versions. |
While Sam Spade's comments are expressed in a more acid tone than I might choose (well, unless talking about 'Rats, Tyrants, Commies and Terrorists ...), I think they have alot of merit.
I hope your 'real' firewall works well for you, Mike.
Mike
That was quick. Glad to hear it went well. Take care.
MJ, me again. Dont you think this ought to be posted on another thread? Maybe Front Page...I think as many folks as possible should see this. Thanks again for your help.
It needed to be said, IMO..........and since one of our disruptors once called me the "Queen Bee" (hehe...) I felt I had the moral authority with which to respond to the impending crisis.....
And AmericanMade, that is one nifty graphic!
