Can you imagine being in that crazy hate filled hell hole, getting ambushed by a larger force and hearing the cry "fix bayonets"!

Boy that'll get you damn blood going! It just doesn't get any more basic than hand to hand!

Actually some US combat line MOSs include quite a bit of bayonet training. I did a lot of it.
