That's a difficult question to answer. The U.S. needs to do what's best for the U.S. The difficulty lies in whether we should be the world's policeman. If we aren't, someone else will step in. And I'd rather it be us than some country that doesn't like us.

Can we just abandon Israel? I don't think so, not after supporting them for so long. On the other hand, we don't need to be joined at the hip, nor is that position an anti-Semitic one: the Jews have every right to anihillate forces who threaten their lives. It's clear that they - even WITH Sharon - are the more reasonable and rational than the terrorists who hate them.

Sorry I can't be more clear-cut than that, it's a complex issue with no easy answers. Otherwise it would have been solved long ago.
