It's always good to cover your bets, but I hope the conservative base hasn't given in to the left-wing media blitz.

President Bush could turn everything around just by saying that his is going to protect our borders and punish those that hire illegals.

Should Kerry defeat Bush in November, Murray said there needs to be a Republican Senate "to block nominations in the same way that the Democrats have blocked those of President George W. Bush."

Sadly Wishful thinking. I predict the senate will be closely split if Kerry wins and Republicans hold on to the Senate. Specter will be there at the head of the Judicial comitee to ruber-stamp anyone Kerry sends him.

Sure is nice to be optimistic isnt it. Stop funding Bush because he isnt a shoo-in , Hell if he was a shoo-in he wouldnt need funding. No wonder Republicans have such a hard time in politics they give up or give in at first sign of a problem.

Murray's a flake. Bush is leading in most of the polls, yet he still thinks Bush is going to lose.

I think there may be a subliminal message in this strategy.

Since Kerry is not picking up support even though the President is taking lots of "hits", I don't think they view Kerry as a target anymore.

So they are shifting their $$$ to the Senatorial races.

It just doesn't make alot of sense to "give up" on a Presidential race this far out from the election, so there must be another reason behind the strategy.

Just MHO.

The guy is deluding himself. If President Bush is not re-elected it's over; the Senate and House Republican leadership is spineless.

This PAC doesn't pass the smell test and has about as much credibility on the right as Jimmy Swaggert.

Especially with that RAT Specter taking up the GOP judicial comitee chairmanship

Don't forget, the Republicans can do to the Dems exactly what the Dems have done to the Republicans, as far as judicial nominations.

Sixty votes is the new magic number!

My "ideal" world would be a Buch re-election and new leadership in the House and Senate, down through the committees. It's time the Republicans stopped acting like the minority party and took charge.

the socially conservative PAC Government Is Not God (GING)

One of Washington's powerhouse PACs.

Never heard of it.

Ranks right up there with Amalgamated Grain Elevator Operators Union.

Real catchy name, too.

Here is a plan for Bush to supercharge the Conservative base: 1) As you suggested, borders. 2) Language - challenge Congress to pass a Bill making English the official language of the USA and driving an initiative to save on costs by removing multilingualism in all areas accept those dealing with tourists and those seeking legal immigration. No more multilingual courts, common forms, and other areas where in any other country, it would be in their own language. 3) Culture - reaffirm opposition to Gay marriage and officially reaffirm the Judeo-Christian principles upon which the USA was founded. 4) Immediately create 3 lists of countries - enemies, friends and cowards. Stop MFN status to all enemies, reduce it for cowards and reward only friends. The criteria for the enemies list would include aid to rogue nations and terrorists, excessive espionage against us, and active preparation for war. #1 on the enemies list = the PRC.

Doing these things would energize the Conservative base - it would be like what happened in 1980 and 1984.

Bottom line: This Murray character is smoking crack. Bush is a religious Christian, he has signed TWO pro-life bills, he has a plan to deal with illegal aliens, he cut taxes twice, and he has drained the terrorist swamps in Afghanistan and Iraq and made Libya fold their hand.

Get that out of a President Ketchup boy.
