Barbie pill promises increased sex drive and year-round tan

Sexual dysfunction affects both men and women and can potentially ruin relationships but now a new hormone may be able to help.

Dr. Stephanie Ash, a gynecologist at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City, Mich., says that lack of labido is wreaking havoc on women and that nationally 43 percent of women suffer from a low sex drive.

"Many women are distraught about it,"said Ash,"... and actually I would say at least 50 percent are reduced to tears in discussing it."

However a drug on the market is working to change all that, it is nicknamed the "Barbie pill" and it is a synthetic hormone that drug companies are rushing to develop. It not only promises better sex but it also promises a knockout body with a year-round tan.

Drugs like Viagra for men, work on stimulating blood flow to overcome impotence but for women it generally does not work. Symptoms of sexual dysfunction in women are more psychological than physically driven. The problem can be triggered by anything such as: heart disease, depression, thyroid disorders or family concerns.

Ash says that sexual dysfunction may be an interpersonal or relationship issue and may not require any medication at all but that it may prevent couples from working on the problem in the relationship itself.

Will she also have dozens of miniature shoes that get stuck in the rug so that you step on them in the middle of the night?

If it gives them legs that go up to their necks and breasts the size of melons, I'm all for it.

I would remind you that Barbie is only 9 inches tall.

Look old depending upon the woman. Sophia Loren looks pretty good :) but then again that's her natural color.

It's a sex aid !         It's a tanning product!
It's a Floor wax !        It's a dessert topping!
Tastes great!        Less filling!

Does not compute. How can something that companies are rushing to develop be "on the market?"

Okay, we've had our fun. Where's the substantiation for this part? It certainly isn't in the posted article.

It couldn't be that the "news" media has become so cavalier with the truth that they they think they can invent complete and total fiction and expect us to believe it? Or, contrariwise, that they can excise critical connections between points and expect us to believe their reports? But then again we have a lot of publik skewl gradiats buying their nooz from soopermarket chekout stands...

Labido is a different term. Dr. Freud spoke of libido, but Dr. Fraud spoke of labido.

LOL...and a head full of plastic?

I've met the woman that I love,
The girl that I adore.
She's deaf and dumb and oversexed,
And owns a liquor store.

Should be called the "Stepford Pill."

You would equate looking good and being horny (in other words, youth) with giving up your individuality and your will? I don't see the connection.

But then, lots of conservatives are grumpy about this sort of thing (pills that can make people happy by letting them live happier lives). Bah, humbug.
