In Germany and France it is quite common. That's where a lot of our retired horses go. I haven't heard of horses being used for food in the US, but personally I don't see it as any less appealing than other large meaty animals.

Dogs, on the other hand...

Sure do. They taste more like steak than chicken.

BTW: Bo is strongly Conservative, and I support her on this. Prett easy on the eyes as well.

Horse meat isn’t bad - it’s lean and actually has more flavor than beef.

The French love horse meat.

The problem is that Americans love horses, and we breed too many of them.

What's all this fuss about horses laughter? Can't horses laugh it they want to? I mean, just because they're horses, they can't have fun like human beings? C'mon, what's wrong with horses laughter?!!

I think she is a conservative, IIRC.

But, she obviously does not agree with horses being used for meat.

Neither do I. Disgusting.

I was in Switzerland back in 1980 and spent the night in a small village called Huemoz. The only cafe had a short menu with steak du cheval as it's most expensive entree (if memory serves, it was 14 Swiss Francs). It was grilled with some garlic, onions and a side of hash browns. Good stuff! I would order it again.

My apologies to Trigger.

They slaughter horses for human consumption????With their taste for frogs and snails, it's no wonder that the French eat horse flesh.
