Great post...SHAMELESS, OUTRAGEOUS, grandstanding by the commission. (Brazen, insolent, incorrigible, presumptious)

The 9-11 commission has completely imploded and self-destructed. Every time they meet, they do more harm to themselves. Even if they were to come up with some sound reasonable suggestions, they have NO influence on whether such suggestions are adopted or not.

....In another testy exchange during the hearing, commissioner Bob Kerrey asked former WTC director Alan Reiss if he was angry about not being told enough before Sept. 11 by the FBI about the al Qaeda terrorist network.

"Things might have been different had they trusted you enough" with information about the terror group, Kerrey suggested......

I am doing a little Monday morning quarterbacking myself, but someone should have told them things might have been different if Congress earned our trust by doing it's job and closed the borders, and allowed local law enforcement agencies to treat illegals for what they are, criminals.

OR......

"Mr. Slade, Mr. Lehman, Mr. Kerry and all, did you ask bubba if his preoccupation with getting a blow job from an intern young enough to be his daughter who was on her knees, under your desk in the Oval Office while speaking with memebers of Congress might have distracted him from the mundane tasks of the Presidency, like mmmm....., maybe NATIONAL SECURITY?"

All of the security measures in the world will not make one difference as long as our borders have holes in them the sixe of Texas.

Idiots, all of them. Don't let us down today, Rudy....hand it right back to them, like the New Yorker you are (and I mean that in a good way).

I saw the Lehman clip on The Lerher News Hour.

He had his a$$ kicked and handed to him. The panel knows better than to try the same thing with Giuliani today.

MEG33, have you noticed how the commission is very good at going after people who were left to solve the problems that others created?

Nobody remembers Frank Church, I guess.

There were anywhere from 30 to 50 THOUSAND people in the WTC at the time of the attacks. Approx. 2700 lives were lost there. Of that number, 15-20% were firefighters and police (rescuers). As tragic and horrific as these deaths were, we all ought to still be on our knees thanking God Almighty that the numbers were not what they could have been.

This commission is disgusting and obviously has no interest in finding ways of preventing another 9-11.

"Grandstanding" is right!!! That's what this commission is all about....not finding solutions.

The POST hit the nail on the head with: "But Kerrey, who has been mentioned as a possible Democratic vice-presidential candidate, won the biggest round of applause from victims' relatives at the hearing when he said, "19 people . . . defeated the INS, they defeated the Customs [Department], they defeated the FBI, they defeated the CIA."

Applause, applause, applause, that's what it's all about, but for sure, history will pan this Commission.

Once again, the 9-11 commission overplayed their partisan, camera-hogging hands. In thier zeal to blame Bush and Rudy, they forgot there are 8 million NYC residents, plus DC and Pa. residents that were directly affected by that day; ...and are very proud of the heroism of these fine public servants. I wager there will be a pretty large outpouring of anger at the commission. Just wait 'til Rudy spits out what's left of their asses on camera. This man has the same clout as President right now. He won't waste it. Oh, BTW, Hillary will take a powder. She'll spend her time talking, while saying nothing or asking anything controversial. She'll have a little Cheshire cat smile on her face.

Bingo! The Church Commision and the gutting of the CIA that followed is never mentioned.
