Er, ah, then it's been expanding at an ever increasing rate for eons? From the beginning? Hmmmm We were all destroyed by this? Women and chillins suffered most? Hmmm Recko the comming ice-age or global warming will alter this? Or matter, for that matter?

Is this the same mysterious "ether" that was once thought to exist in space??

How about "phlogiston"??? We could bring that back as an explanation..
