Dick Morris, who had everyone here on FR in a tizzy a couple of weeks ago saying Bush was in big trouble and that Kerry was in good shape has now changed his tune.
*Despite having "the worst 6 weeks of any president in recent history," Bush's poll numbers have stabilized.
"If I had to pick, right now, today, I'd say Kerry would win, but if I had to pick who is looking better for November, I'd say Bush."
Morris said that he expects that Iraq situation to die down, especially after the transfer of power, and that we'll pull back to bases in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and this will cause the "War on Terror" to re-emerge as the main issue as opposed to the "War in Iraq." Bush wins on that issue, he says.
Hannity asked about gas prices and ANWAR. Not an issue, Morris said. The public is focused on the war. Where Bush and the Republicans can do damage to Kerry is on his support for the gas tax.
Overall, Morris seemed to think Bush had hit bottom and would start to recover, contrary to what he said a few weeks ago (I know, Morris changes his tune a lot).
Asked about his next book, Morris said instead of a counter to Hillary's "Living History" ("Rewriting History"), it would be a rebuttal to Clinton's "My Life." Morris said he would need two volumes, and would call it
"Get a Life."
Thanks for the ping!
I like him. I think he is interesting and a gentleman.
I think he has been behind in every race except his Gov. re-election.
Yeah! But enough about Hannity, what about Dick Morris?
Uh, oh. This means Bush will surely lose.
he is on now - was on. What a jerk. Bush has lost Iraq and Bush has lost the election.
Doesn't say much for Kool-aid drinking Hannity does it.
"he is on now - was on. What a jerk. Bush has lost Iraq and Bush has lost the election."
I agree. Just had to do a search here for Morris as I am getting sick of hearing him these past two days on Fox saying things look bad for Bush and his only chance is Nader.
