It is with great pride that I, RightOnline, and The Lovely Wife (aka "RightOnlinesWife") announce the commissioning of our eldest son (oldest of our seven children), known to fellow FReepers as "Future Snake Eater", as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army.
F.S.E. was commissioned on Friday afternoon, then received his B.A. degree the following day from NC State University. Combined with his recent marriage to his lovely new bride at the end of February, this has been quite the past few months for the RightOnline household and Future Snake Eater.
He will soon leave for Infantry Officer Training School, then Airborne, then Ranger school......then off to Ft. Lewis, WA, where he will lead a Stryker platoon.
Please join us in congratulating a fine young man who is going to make one hell of an Army officer.
God speed, Chris.
What a beautiful couple. I'm crying here. GBU, FSE.
(Poohbah stands to attention; does not salute as he's in civvies, plus he's indoors and not covered)
Congratulations, sir!

We got your back!
Actually, Susan makes it very easy! She is a very kind, loving person and compliments Chris very well! Besides, I've always wanted another girl...
Thanks for serving and posting the pics too.
What a great looking family.

Look above, in this set of 50 (51 - 100) replies.......pics posted........thanks for motivating me to get 'em up and on here. :)
Congratulations, SIR!!!
Yes....(see reply # 68)........F.S.E. is our oldest at 24; the youngest is 2 1/2. Our two daughters, both college kids as well and putting themselves through college on their own, were working and unable to attend the commissioning ceremony.
Congratulations to your whole family. Tell your son how proud of him we are.
Thank you very much, my friend.................and I think you just did. :)
Congrats to all. FSE, I don't envy you going through Ranger training in warm weather. The Florida phase is a b*tch in moderate weather, but it can be a killer in summer. Stay safe.
Way cool!
Well, I'll be doing IOBC in the blazing heat of the summer (June, July, August), so it looks like I have either a fall Ranger class or a < shudder > winter Ranger class. No matter what, it's going to suck, but hopefully the weather will cooperate a little bit.
F.S.E. has been a FReeper almost as long as his dad here. If you don't think your little ol' Internet discussion forum has impacted his world view and, therefore, impacted his career decisions..........think again. Thanks, Jim.
Way to go, FSE. FReep mail comin' at ya, RightOnline.
Eglin AFB is pretty nice in the winter, although I expect the water is a little cool in January. I used to hang out with some of the Ranger instructors when I was stationed there.
Wow! Congratulations all around!
Congrats!
