If these really are the ones that killed Nicholas Berg, please spare us our decency for as long as it takes for us to behead these people in public.
I understand there was a distintion being made at the briefing between them being arrested versus detained.
Detainees likely can be treated under Guantanamo rules, rather than usual Miranda type criminal justice rules.
I agree. "Execution" denotes a reasoning by a formal, recognized group. It's better defined and more horrendous by being called the savage "murder" that it was.
Execution seems to imply cause.

Capital killings as sentence for a criminal conviction is *one* meaning of the word "execution", sure, but not the *only* one. In the broader sense the word "execution" is used for killings which are done in a ritualized fashion in some manner, like mob-related "executions".
Too bad this news came out after "Fahrenheit 9/11" has already been showed at Cannes... Moore could have portrayed these guys as bold revolutionaries, valiantly fighting the invaders of their homeland, but with a deep sense of humanity, of course.

Using the word "execution" in this broader sense tends to give the barbaric actions of murderous thugs an aura of pseudo-legitamacy. I wish President Bush and others would stop using it this way. What is wrong with saying "barbaric murder"?
Nick Berg's father in his brainwashed liberal mindset will probably set up donation and funding for the killers defense when caught!I mean they should have all the due process of fair legal counsel,and treatment under U.S.and coalition custody!I'm sure M.Berg is worried to death these demons that killed N.Berg will be abused with the horrible panty torture!Maybe the democrats can have them come over and stay at their house while they are being tried under U.S.civil rights ACLU protection!

We've still got people saying the video was "fake". He's dead isn't he?
What's more, the same people saying the video was a fake also say that the killers in the video were CIA and they actually killed him on the tape. Which is it? They also say that he was killed because FR put CANSWERs list online and that made his dad suspect keeping Nick in Iraq long enough that terrorists could kidnap him. They are grasping at every conspiracy theory even though they all conflict with each other.
The US forces in Iraq ARE NOT confirming this report.
