I believe "I swanny" is a euphemism for "I swear!"
On another note, an interesting southern phenomenon is how you can say anything negative about anybody as long as you end it with "bless their heart."
That girl is as ugly as a mud fence daubed with tadpoles...bless her heart!"

If you watch "Bassmasters" on TV...you get to hear guys say "feeshin' hoooooook."
Haven't heard "feeshin' wahr" in a long time, though.

We've got some dumbutt on PBS out here named Heull Howser that's a real crack-up!!! Yeah, Huell's such a dumbutt that he's making a gazillion bucks doing a job that most of us can only dream of: driving around to the most beautiful places in California having a great 'ol time chatting up people, eating and drinking and enjoying life.

I just remembered! A Canadian friend had a Cajun flight instructor (well, I *think* this is the relationship - I can't check right now) who used to say in amazement, and with great gusto: "Boy, I mean!"
I love it.
