If you're planning a dinner party, take this bit of sage advice: Don't invite Bill Clinton.

Big Bill is so desperate for attention these days that he might actually show up, and then you'd have a hard time getting rid of him as he jabbered on into the wee hours while your other guests stifle yawns and sneak peeks at their watches.

"Those who socialize with Clinton say there's no off switch even when he's relaxed," Robert Sam Anson writes in an amazing article on Clinton's post-presidential years in the June issue of Vanity Fair. Anson backs up that point with a series of devastating anonymous quotes from Clinton cronies:

Truth be told: That is all Clinton did for the eight years of his administration--he yacked. The man loves analyzing situations/events/policy until most humans are blue in the face. All the while, alQaeda becomes more and more emboldened. They knew that the American president was more interested in displaying his "intellectual abilities" through pow-wows with his stupid sycophantic staff, than in defending this country.

What, eat like an effing cow, snap a thong on an ass the size of a Hoppity Horse, give a sub-par hummer, and save the besmirched chowder receptacle for posterity?

The contrast between the former president and President Bush is incredible. Clinton is gaucheness personified.

I think it's just that this is the way Bill Clinton always has been - self-centered, egotistical, short attention span. There's nothing new in the story, just the interesting fact that well into his 50s, Clinton has the maturity of a 12-year-old.
