President Bush spoke Monday to mark the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas, decision that ended racially segregated schools.

He greeted the fueling squadron on the way in, and greeted the Air National Guard troops on the way out of the airport at Topeka, Kansas.

I am on a self-imposed news boycott. I am also not visiting all of the polling sites that I have bookmarked. This media bias is really, really getting to me. To preserve my sanity, I am having to stay away from the TV

I keep a tape handy so when either the Pres. or Laura are on I can pop it in and tape them. Who knows when that next Perfect Kiss might happen?

My kids' last day of school is tomorrow. I'll be glad to have them home, at least a little. My daughter informed me a few weeks ago that, "Mom, I won't be able to be your slave this summer because I'm going to be helping Dad at the ranch. You're going to have to find someone else to do all your work here at home." So I guess I won't be sitting around eating bon-bons all summer! :-)

It is a family joke at my house now that anytime President Bush or Laura's name are mentioned on TV, everyone yells "Clear". They know that I will run over them getting to the TV.

I'm going to preserve my sanity by reading books instead of watching the news, I think. I'll check in here for the breaking news. I just cannot stand to think about the polls, either.

I'm with you dear! No visiting polls, no watching TV and very very little listening to the radio.

Altho I did enjoy some of Roger Hedgecock today.

I see that Vice-President Cheney and Colin Powell were both in my state today. Actually they were only about 45 minutes away.

HEADS UP:

C-Span will air the President's speech from today after this House of Representative stuff -- they didn't provide a time (of course, when has C-Span ever adhered to a schedule!)!!

I really let it upset me too much lately. I'm just going to depend on DrDeb to keep me informed. No matter what happens it is always spun against President Bush. It drives me insane. Surely something good has got to happen soon!

Good things happen every day. It's just that the media will NOT report it under any circumstances.

Kids' perception is just a LITTLE off sometimes . . .

They don't realize that they work a heck of a lot harder for their dad, not to mention in the heat and longer hours!

*I didn't add the "sarcasm" notation*

I know sarcastic humor a mile away. It is my kind of
humor. Though I am a native of San Diego, my humor is
from my New York relatives. They go back to Manhattan
and Brooklyn except my grandmother was from Hoboken, NJ.

BTY my cat is from Manhattan. My NY neighbor's friend
came out, brought his cat, had his shots and fixed and a
sweetie. He saw how the cat enjoyed it here and when he
went back to NYC he asked if I wanted to take the cat.
My cat was in Manhattan on 9/11. he is 6 yrs.
He is an indoor cat but goes out on my balcony on his
leash a little during the day. I love this cat!

Who didn't you go and see them? :-)

Both Pres. Bush and JFK were one state south of me today.

I agree with those of you who have decided to limit your consumption of TV and newspapers for the next 5 1/2 months -- we must maintain our mental health for the important tasks.

My family and I spent the weekend in NW Ohio at a family wedding -- I must say, I remained blissfully unaware of polls, biased news coverage and JFnK for 2 1/2 days!!!! The only thing I missed was the DOSE [Of course, I was reading Bill Sammon's new book about the President, so I was actually getting my DOSE, just in a different format!!]

I know, that is what is so infuriating. What can we do about it? It seems like the media is conducting this election. I am just about fed up with FOX. I fail to see the fair and balanced news from them. They will report on everything that Kerry does and barely give President Bush a mention. Now that we have two candidates, they should make sure that they give equal time to each one.

I was out of work two weeks ago for surgery and my son graduates from college this week, so I didn't feel like I could ask off.

Your post the other night when I asked you about polls actually convinced me that I had to stop obsessing and step back. The daily ups and downs were keeping me way to uptight.
