Senior Palestinian militant killed in explosion in his Rafah home in apparent accident while preparing explosives (Reuters)
We'll take their demise any way they come - - sort of like an in the park homerun (or rather, a triple with an error on the throw home).
Another one bites the dust! (But, how many more are born this day to take his place?)
"Cycle of violence" alert.
Rack one up on the "Palestinian Side," and be sure to impugn Israel's honor with his death.
"Rueters" News Service [sic]
That (microwaves) is not unlike what the Israeli's often use to "encourage" these work accidents. And this is exactly what American forces in Iraq should be using to clear IED roadside bombs, car bombs and suicide bombs. All they need to use is one of the small, mobile, high-power radar transmitters that the military uses for air defense warning and SAM sites. Point it down the road, switch to active and duck. Nothing like a few mega-watts to cook these babies off! It's the primer explosives and fusing apparatus that make such bombs so terribly vulnerable.

As an act of retaliation, Kaddafi sent one of his missile patrol boats to attack the Loran Station. The boat got within a couple of miles of the station and fired two of three missiles (I can't remember which). When the missiles got closer the to transmitter tower they went wild and crashed in the ocean.
I think I know what you mean.
i second that.
Don't you mean that must have been his house that just passed?
What brand of cigarette was he smoking? Quick call the trial lawyers....

He must have been whipping up a little something for dinner.
The real question is, why aren't we doing this?
From my mouth to God's ear I hope they meet with many more of these "accidents" before they have a chance to use them on the Israelis.
Allow me to quote from a previous reply to that question:
Imagine yourself a frontline infantry commander and Lt. Numbnuts comes to you asking you to approve a requisition for a several million dollar AN/MPQ-51, Hawk Missile Battery, target ranging radar. You ask Lt. Numbnuts whether he's lost his friggen mind, but he tells you that he's convinced that this radar should be able to set off terrorists IED bombs from a distance, thereby avoiding coalition casualties. Now the ball's in your court Colonel, as a career officer, do you care to bump *that* req. up the chain of command with your signature on it???
The military does not have a good history of rewarding creative thinking and great imaginations. This would have to be a "top down" project, for the brass to accept it. If CENTCOM has a "special contingencies" or "rapid reaction" committee, it could be suggested to them for speedy implementation, but you need a contact to get it before that committee. We used to have such a contact on FR, but he's no longer here.
