I am more concerned than ever for the future of this nation.

So many people, older people who lived through WWII, have told me they feel the same way.

I was a child in WW2, a Navy wife in 53, a mother of young elementary age children during the Cuban Missile crisis and the assassination of a President.

I saw the nation under fire from those like Kerry, the Weather Underground, Black Panthers, the turmoil of the 60s and 70s. I lived through the Cold War, I see the continuing threat of communism that younger people do not see, perhaps.

I see the Islamofascists as such a different threat because they exist all over the world....I see anti globalist anarchists, communists, socialists, envirowhackos, terror sympathizers joining hands with Islamists to promote the weakening of America, of the Western values, America's in particular.

These forces and many in the media are our fifth columnists, enabling true terrorism to strike and the weakening of our response.

See how easily they undermine the will of many Americans because, in Iraq , a small number of people abused some prisoners in a prison holding suspected killers of our troops and other Iraqis.

We are at war with monsters and we want to uphold our rules, our humanity, punish wrongdoers, but now we may go so far that we cannot interrogate the perps adequately.

The good news is the great performance of our armed forces.
The bad news is we may be defeated here in America by our media, our own elected officials bent on defeating the President, and a public who think we can turn all over to a corrupt UN or just get along with the people who wish us dead.
They forget the many times we have been attacked. They even seem to forget 911.
Yes, I am very concerned for America's future.

Beautifully written. So true. Such uncertain times we live in. I find I pray a lot more than I used to.

I agree totally. What most people don't understand is taht most of those "Peace" protesters of the 60's are teachers, politicians and JOURNALISTS today. The "kids" of the '68 Democratic Convention didn't just fade away with their misguided ideas about this country...they've gotten themselves into position in our society where they are directly influencing and corrupting young and old with their Communist Utopia vision for our country.

Those same people who managed a small...IMHO....overthrow of our government in the late 60's early 70's are attempting to recreate history and they are sadly in a more powerful position to try their sedition again.

Now, if a kid who was born in 1969 can see all of this...how come people much older and much wiser can't?

Why? ... Because they're too damn selfish to take up their responsibilities as sovereigns of this Republic.

The lying sack of liberal dung was on O'Reilly. Bill didn't say Hirsch was lying but said he had been mislead. Phooey on that! Hirsch knows when he's lying for his leftist societal engineering lovers. Sick commie ...

I heard him. O'Reilly questioned him hard on his "sources" , doubted the credibility and the spin of the source, but did state later to Grainer's defense lawyer that the abuse would have continued if the pictures hadn't been published (wrong..O'Reilly, the investigation was completed and the perps removed).

I wasn't about to listen to the love fest tonight with Matthews and Sy, the little commie.

I just stomached the sissy Matthews interview ... Chrissy sat there with mouth open, as if being briefed by God! What sickening fools the leftist elitists are proving themselves to be. But should we stay out of their way and let them bare their all consuming hatred for conservatism and America?... Damn right we should! The democrat party has fueled its empowerment with the blood of the innocent for too long ... time for their evil selves to have the light shined in.

I used to watch for opposition research, but it's more than my weak stomach can bear now!..Thanks for confirming my "love fest" opinion..sickening. I watched him with Richard Clarke. Chris was smitten, indeed worshipful.

The latest New Yorker story quickly became the latest Hersh controversy. Top military officials have denied its primary claim of a disastrous mission that included serious casualties. "That's not true," said Gen. Myers on Meet the Press, when Tim Russert asked him about the article. "My belief is that every soldier that came back from that particular raid is back on duty today; none of them seriously injured, certainly none of them injured by the Taliban." Rear Adm. John Stufflebeem concurred: "The reports I have seen just don't support that article's supposition." Army Gen. Tommy Franks added, "We had a bunch of these young people who, you know, had scratches and bumps and knocks from rocks and all this sort of stuff. And so, it's-it's probably-it's probably accurate to say that maybe-maybe five or maybe 25 people were, quote, 'wounded.' We had no one wounded by enemy fire."

But we now know, thanks to the Democrat nominee for President, that "scratches and bumps and knocks from rocks and all this sort of stuff" are serious injuries. You can win multiple Purple Hearts for that kind of thing!

Well, yes, but we knew Sy Hersh did it. Anyone who pays attention to journalism has known for years that he is not credible.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to hvae dawned on Bill O'Reilly.

O'Reilly's interview with Hersh was good. BO said that he had information that some of the "facts" in Hersh's story were blatantly false. BO claimed that Hersh had been duped and offered bogus information.

Sy Hersh crossed the line from being a working journalist to being an conscious, out-and-out advocate for liberal/socialist causes long ago. To me, he's as much a legend in his own mind as Michael Moore is.

Well old Sly Sy claimed his "intel" came from the top and from the inside. I could not help but think of "hillry".

Like many Hersh stories, Hersh's Rumsfeld-bash on the Abu Ghraib thing is credited to a single, anonymous source. Hersh further says the source is Agency -- which means the source would not be well-informed about stuff in the DOD, eh?

In other words, Hersh heard from one guy with an axe to grind, pushing a probably false, agenda-driven story, and that was his "Scoop." As usual.

Good rule of thumb: believe nothing from anonymous sources -- not even the existence of the sources. Many reporters routinely use "anonymous" sources as vehicles for their own opinions and prejudices.
