If he's such a wonderful reporter, why doesn't he report on the truth about Nick Berg's assassination? Or is that small potatoes for a big man like himself (SARC)?
Ping remember your FReepmail question to me when I asserted lying and dishonesty among reporters is far more common than most people realize? Suggest you read the above article.
Is this another 'Clymer"?
FLAMING Clymer is more like it!
The Original Clymer
How can ANYONE believe Seymour? I mean he claimed that Bush the dad flew in an SR71 to go to some secret assignation in Paris when he was clearly in the States campaigning...come on this guy is a crap throwing lefty If he says it it must be a lie
I can just see this bum write an article about how Rummy planted that sarin loaded munition.
People like Hersch are the perfect example of what's wrong with "journalism' these days.
Report on the mai lai massacre...IGNORE the tactical and military defeat of the NVC durning Tet.
Excoriate everyone from a bunch of knuckle head enlisted soldiers all the way up to the SecDef for some humiliation of a few Iraqi bombthrowers during their incaration...IGNORE the fact taht 95% of the people in Iraq are GLAD that we are there and ignore the good things we're doing for them.
"How can ANYONE believe Seymour?"
Because he's anti-Pres. Bush, anti-military and anti-Republican.
Therefore, despite errors that would get him booted from Journalism 101 in college, and because he espouses the RAT talking points to perfection, he is immune from scrutiny or criticism from his media brethren.
EDITOR'S NOTE: The man behind many of the most provocative Abu Ghraib stories Seymour M. Hersh of The New Yorker is one of the best-known reporters in the business. But that doesn't mean he always gets his facts right. "If the standard for being fired was being wrong on a story, I would have been fired long ago," he once said. Hersh has admitted to lying to his sources and one former editor accused him of blackmailing them. Can he be trusted today?
Sy will be on Chris Matthews....They are inplicating a Rumsfield order in Newsweek, the control over the unit by MI and CIA agents as the reason for the abuse...
Get Rummy is the point, of course and there are enough Army Pentagon and retired Army Generals backing them to get rid of Rumsfield to make this threatening...I am concerned...
Since when has the media had to be accurate to create big problems?
"Get Rummy is the point"
EXACTLY...and if they can "get" Rummy...then there's a clear path to "get" the guy @ 1600 Pennsylvania avenue and reverse the election of 2000 before Kerry loses in November.
I am more concerned than ever for the future of this nation...
As my children get older MEG...I am too. I guess I'm rubbing off on my step-kids though...they both tell me...even after i was in Iraq for a year they want to join the Army like I did.
....AMERICA...HOME OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!
Thank you for your service. God Bless our Armed Forces.
Stories like this and the arrogance and bias of the major media outlets in this coutnry are some of the things that have led me to decide the military is the ONLY place I will continue to be a journalist.
Hersch is going to be on FNC tonite. Be interesting to see if he gets a grilling tonite about his "accuracy".
Exactly. They know they can lie, cheat and steal with almost complete impunity, and the gullible public will believe.
On the other hand, one thing you can take to the bank: President Bush will not ask for Rummy's resignation. If Rummy is going to step down, it will be because he wants to, and for no other reason. However, the election is now less than six months away. If Rummy has stuck it out this long, I'm sure he'll stick it out a few months longer. After that, he may want to retire since he's in his mid 70's.
Rumsfield has served his country well over the years. He did not need this job, has no need to work at all. I am so grateful for his heeding the call and joining the Bush cabinet.
One editor called Sy "my little commie"
