STAUNTON - Every thespian knows it: Animals upstage actors at curtain calls.
Oscar-winning British actress Judi Dench received an honorary degree yesterday morning from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, but it was graduating senior Angela Woolf's seeing-eye dog, Writer, who stole the spotlight.

It is an an excellent school, and Staunton, VA, (pronounced STAN-ton) is a very nice, very decent town.
