How about some facts Intelligence and I might add very good intelligence that weapons brought in from Iran and Saudi Arabia by Hizbullah are sitting near the Israeli Egyptian border ready to be brought in by tunnels into Rafah.
Some of them still in a tunnel that goes under the Suez Canal near a town called El-Arish where they were unloaded from a ship. These weapons were to escalate the battle between the Terrorists groups controlled by Yasser Arafat to make it appear that the IDF was ran out of Gaza much like that of Southern Lebanon by the Hizbullah.
These are not just guns and grenades what we are talking about is a very large shipment of Strella shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles capable of bring down commercial airliners as well as military and Sagger anti-tank missiles to kill many IDF soldiers. With a collection of other long range missiles that can be aimed at many Israeli towns, killing many Jews.
With this type of information Israel had little choice but to stop this shipment and those certain to come after it, and to do it now before thousands of Israelis were killed. In the mean time Egypt sits still and will not lift a hand to stop the smuggling of weapons into Israel.
It would be impossible for Egypt not to be in full knowledge of these shipments yet they turn a blind eye. This is the same country that the US has armed with F-16 and many other long range weapons knowing they have no enemies who means them any harm, and that there only desire is to destroy Israel.
I heard the wonderful political speech George Bush just gave to secure some Jewish and Christian votes. But maybe someone should ask him why he will not pick up the phone and talk to his old friend President Mubarak of Egypt who stays at his ranch, and ask him why he doesn't cut off the smuggling tunnels. Or why he doesn't stop the ships that bring the weapons in from Iran then stocked piled in the desert waiting their turn to come through the tunnels into Gaza?
Israel had no choice but to launch a strong operation dubbed " Operation Rainbow" to clear out the houses that the Terrorists used to hide their snipers and weapons smuggling tunnels.
Yasser Arafat ordered tens of thousands of Palestinians to march on the IDF, with armed Hamas and Islamic Jihad Terrorists among them. Knowing that if they ever got close to the IDF soldiers at the Philadelphi Route it would cause a shoot out, for they would have to be stopped.
For without any doubt they would overwhelm and kill the IDF soldiers. The route the Palestinians were coming down was also heavy mined. The IAF helicopter fired a missile into an open field in front of the on coming Palestinians and the IDF tanks fired shells into an empty building along side of them to frighten them into scattering knowing that if they didn't stop many would have to be killed. It was then there was an explosion in the middle of the group.
The IDF and the IAF both say they never fired into the middle of the crowd and that it is under investigation. But in the mean time Israel has offered to give medical help to the wounded which the PA refused.
The real villain here is Yasser Arafat, he was so upset over operation Rainbow that it would once again stop his shipment of arms from Iran to kill Jews so he order his people into the streets to die for his cause. His logic seems to be that if he couldn't get the weapons he wanted for his terrorists he'd set up a situation that would bring the world down on Israel once again.
Israel has no choice but to widen the Philadelphi Route in Rafah, for if Israel pulls out of Gaza the IDF will have to patrol that border. Israel can never give Arafat access to the Egyptian border, then he wouldn't even need tunnels. Over the past couple weeks these houses have been used by Palestinian snipers and many of them have tunnels under them for the movement of weapons from Egypt to Gaza.
I remember a month or so back that when the IDF blew up a tunnel they looked on the Egyptian side of the border and a lot of smoke came out of an Egyptian Police Station. This gives you some idea what we are up against.
The real victims here are not just us Israelis but the Palestinians for they have been brainwashed with Islamic doctrine from birth, and along came Yasser Arafat who told them that to be a martyr for Allah was the highest calling. I have seen a glimmer of hope over the past few weeks, even King Abdullah has hinted that Arafat should step down. Several noted and well-known Palestinian Journalist have finally gotten the courage to say he should step down.
But as I said it is but a glimmer and the real fire is burning from the Arafat camp and that includes Hamas and Islamic Jihad who could not operated without his approval.
In closing I want you to notice the pictures shown by CNN & BBC showing all the kids who were being carried out of the area. As soon as there is any attack by the IDF Palestinian men start grabbing kids and carrying them in front of the cameras. What is even more disturbing is the Reporters know what is happening but show the pictures anyway.
CNN & BBC reported that up to 18 were killed, but the real number has proven to be 8, but that is being called a massacre.
It's like the time when one of the IAF cameras caught the act of a "corpse" that fell off the stretcher he was being carried on, and jumped up and got back on the stretcher.
At the same time a US helicopter fired into a house full of family members having a wedding in Iraq killing 45, also regrettable I am sure, but watch which one gets the most publicity.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for our son Joel, for all the IDF soldiers and all those who have come to fight the Islamic enemy. Pray for this Ministry and your part in it.
