Most of tonight was salvage work before we lost the light. We lost almost all the corn, and it was just coming over 6" or so. I replanted the destroyed rows, and set a railroad tie at one end to remind the... tviokh... not to pull that stunt again. We also put wire meshing over the other plants, to strengthen them and keep the birds off.

You should see the contraption that I finally devised to keep all of the critters out of my "Vegetable Patch" . . . I have 8, 4' x 16' beds . . . each bed has 8 pieces of rebar in it, 1 piece in each corner and the other 4 pieces evenly placed down the bed . . . then I have 4 pieces of 12' PVC pipe that is pushed down over the rebar, so I have 4 hoops evenly placed down each bed . . . then I have bird netting over the hoops in each bed to keep out . . .deer, raccoons, possums, armadillos, birds, rabbits, dogs, cats, bugs galore . . . you name it and it has traisped thru' my garden. . . .LOL!!! . . .I feel like I'm in an armed camp and it sure is a pain to work in the garden, but it's the only way I can keep and harvest anything for myself . . . .criiters don't share . . . they take the lot.

Man, Sarge, I'm so sorry that your garden got ruined. Doing the same job twice is not fun.
