"Fully automatic weapons have been restricted in the United States since the National Firearms Act of 1934, available only to police, military personnel, and private individuals who manage to obtain permission from the US Treasury Dept, pass an extensive background check, fully register the firearm and continually update the owner's address and location of the firearm and pay a $200 transfer tax. Some states require state permission as well. The US Treasury Dept. lists only a few hundred thousand lawfully owned fully automatic weaponss. The bulk of these are owned and used in the motion picture industry."

I reckon this must be a meeting of the Screen Actors Guild (Knob Creek, Kentucky chapter).

A bunch of my buddies here in South Florida own full auto including a few with "suppressors." In fact there is a "Full Auto" club here in this area. They shoot once a month and it sounds like "Tet 1968!" Even a couple of belt fed blasters. An M60 and I think an M2HB. Just tons of fun. When they first got started years ago, the BATF and FBI were all over them, videotaping, etc. Now some of the agents show up with dept issue to compete. I have video of me running an IDPA course with one of my friends "select fire" UZI's. We had to change targets after my run, too many holes to paste!
