True.
Also, a reign of bygones being bygones would be correct.
also true
Excellent post. Just one minor quibble....a ruler "reigns" but bringing something under control is "reining" in.
One minor quibble. You said: We are told that Islam is a religion of peace by those unwilling to condemn a billion Muslims. Being extremely generous assume that 90% are peaceful. That still leaves a million Islamofascist more than willing to die themselves
Ten percent of a billion is one hundred million (100,000,000). If a mere one tenth of one percent (0.1%) were fanatical fighters, that would give them 1,000,000 fighters - enough to overwhelm Europe, certainly - and the U.S. in due course.
Thank you for posting this!
And that will be their final undoing. Americans have a unique mind set. We are slow to anger, but don't push too far.
It's my contention that numerous clandestine organizations will form overnight and the resulting elimination of Islamofacists and, unfortunately, innocent moderate Muslims will be swift and effective. Do you think for a moment that 80,000,000 American gun-owners will allow our women and children to be slaughtered on a regular basis, ala Israel? They will have no where to hide or run. I only hope it doesn't come to this.
That's right. As our enemies learned in WWII.
We will never give up our freedom.
Aah the beauty of the second amendment.
This is exactly why the founders phrased it;
"SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED".
May there never be rain on your parade and may you never suffer the fate of a peon (pee-on).
When parenting is done by the mommy state, odds are the cream will be sour, if not curdled.
"And that will be their final undoing. Americans have a unique mind set. We are slow to anger, but don't push too far."
I am in total agreement with you. Im many ways 9/11 as horrible as it was has cause much good. The Islamists expected to hit and run, the way they have been able to hit and run for the past 30 years.
The 9/11 attack was much more effective than anticipated and 50% of the country woke up to what was real in the world. Americans like to coast, we are actually a very easy going country. When we shake off our lethargy we are formidible.
Of the 50% that are still sleeping, about 20% are actually hoping for the US to loose and think we deserve what happened. The other 30% are merely misguided and are too afraid to consider what is at stake. They prefer to stick their heads into the sand and hope it all goes away.
The war against Terror must succeed, if it fails consider a Nicholas Burg on every city block in the United States. That fate is not inconcievable considering the nature of our opponents.
I am inclined to agree with you.. it will not be pretty, and will bring much suffering on everyone. But I do not believe that the US will allow our security situation to get like Isreal ..

the rain in spain falls mainly on de plane de plane boss boss de PLANE!
Why ever not believe it? If Kerry wins and aligns the U.S. with the United Nations, which is part of the democratic agenda; it is a return to the Clinton years and we know he did what he wanted to throught means legal or not, constitutional or not. Just look at what the various judges are doing now; and what they have been doing for years. Heaven help us.
Rather only God can help us and it will come on His timetable not ours.
I would love to be mistaken.

You are connecting the dots fairly well...but I don't see that you would be banished by completing your thoughts. Email me at least, I'm curious to know where you were going with this post!
In case you haven't noticed, we have already given up our freedom. Most of the inhabitants of this country ( I can't make myself call them "citizens") are only interested in the 21st century versions of bread and circuses. In another generation, and that is not a long time, guns will be as foreign and as feared by the masses as alien life forms. Resistance will be impossible.
This is the unmentioned or rarely mentioned reason for going into Iraq. This is the complicated but true nature of our task.
Iraq, with it's history of having a small but alive Christian community and women in the position of power, was the best possible choice in the middle east for a nation that we could shake up and try to re mold.
Success or failure of this enterprise is based largely on our political will as a nation. Politics will control the outcome.
In my view, failure is not an option, as your scenario will play out if we do. But,I do differ with you on the point that it will play out regardless. I believe that there is a potential to change the face of Islam.
A nearly impossible task, but one that is certainly worth trying to accomplish, as a world wide religious war is something we must avoid if we can. The ramifications of such a thing would set our society and our progress back on it's ass for a generation or more.
We must be willing to pay the price today, because the price of failure in this endeavor is high, very high indeed.
OH. You WANTED us to feel uncomfortable...? You think we NEED to wake up...?
Excellent post!!!

Don't mean to be too picky, but I was anticipating eight (8) "paragraphs." These are eight "steps" or whatever you might want to call them. Bump for later reading and digestion.
I hope you are wrong as well... I do not know what it will look like in our big cities (I have never even been to NY or LA), but in my neck of the woods, where good and decent people are still the majority (and extremely well armed), I can guarantee that Islamic crazies will not make trouble (for long anyway).. of course, I dont think wreaking havoc in rural MS is high on their list of priority targets.
