Reading the article it would appear Emily Miller wanted to stick to a pearranged 10-minute limit and Powell was concerned about offending the almighty Tim Russert.Emily gets it.Powell et al don't.No matter how much you try to curry favor with the liberal pukes,it won't work.

An interesting take on it,probably will be more popular than mine above, but,if we keep kissing the big fat a$$e$ of people like Russert,we're screwed.

A month Tim had Kerry squirming in his chair after being asked questions about Vietnam and medals. Today he has Powell squirming. Looks like Tim may be the only guy in the media doing a good job.

A nonevent that was corrected by Sec. Powell. Why all the fuss! Exactly. If anything it makes Secretary Powell come off as looking good.

Don't let Tim fool you.My opinion is not only is he hopelessly biased, but, not even very good at what he does.Lawrence Spivak was better.

You shouldn't contradict you're 'commander' in public, even if you are a civilian, and especially not in a nationally broadcasted, recorded venue.
You embarass both of you, and Powell will need to do something to reassert his position.
Of course, I'm looking at it from a leadership view point. Politics, alas, does not necessarily operate by the same rules.

Russert to palm tree.
"Mr palm, all polls show that your support among Americans has fallen dramatically, Do you believe this is the result of civilian injuries caused by what you characterize as "accidental coconut droppage"? If so, do you have any plans to counter these apparently rogue nuts?"

I think Tim is an old school Democrat and just doesn't have the guts to leave the party, a party that long ago left him I might add. When I saw his line-up this morning of McCain and Biden I didn't even bother to watch.

Sure but he took a heavy swing at Kerry which other media journalists would not have done. That was the one shot that took Kerry down in the polls even more than Bush's 60 million dollar ad campaign.
