By now, some Americans may feel the need for respite from the images of Abu Ghraib and the five hooded barbarians standing behind Nick Berg. This week's column will try to provide some measure of respite.
It is the story of Americans, in and out of the U.S. government, who moved mountains to help seven horribly maimed Iraqi men. It is not always pleasant reading, but there are rewards to staying with it, especially now.
Quite obviously it has been decided, as the handling of the Abu Ghraib story makes plain, that when America stumbles, we are going to have our faces rubbed in it. And rubbed in it and rubbed in it. As far as I can make out, the purpose of this two weeks of media humiliation is that we--the president, all of us--are being asked to morally prostrate ourselves before the rest of the world. Some may choose to do so, but this story should make a few Americans want to simply stand up straight again.

Why will none of the networks, including Fox, run this documentary? We know why.
The better question is, can Freepers bring enough pressure on Fox to run this film?
Paragraphs are your friend ;-)
America, Islam, and Those Prison Photos [Graphic language alert]
I was told by the moderator that this thread had been pulled because the excerpt had not succeeded. So I posted it again and it apparently worked.
Sorry for the duplicate thread. But it is worth the read!
I agree...this is what we took part in earlier this week....we need to incessantly e-mail this story, both link and text, to the networks the next two days then start making calls. I am going to e-mail Kristin, JmStein and Dr. Raul this link. Get everyone involved to show the hypocrisy of the press!
Great story! On Fox News Sunday Chris Wallace asked people to send in stories of the good things going on in Iraq. This would definitely make a good report...but they would give it maybe 30-45 seconds at most.
Americans are da bomb, aren't we? When we put our mind to it, we can truly simultaneously kick ass and bandage wounds, can't we?
I'm walking taller today. Thanks for posting this!!

this is a pretty funny read about the prison thing for those who don't mind bad words. While I did wince at the language used, I was still able to appreciate the humor of the ideas expressed.
Oops, great minds think alike? I didn't see your link before posting mine.
You are absolutely right. This story needs to be broadcast Time for some FReeping folks!
Oprah would love this story of 'humanitarianism' , the 'compassionate ' kind that comes from 'deep in the heart of Texas.'
repeat
bttt
one more bump for the good guys........
BUMP! I am sending an Email to all news outlets this afternoon on Don North's "Remembering Saddam". We can make this happen. EAGLE'S UP...FREEPERS UNITE!
" I am going to e-mail Kristin, JmStein and Dr. Raul this link"
If Kristin and Dr. Raul can't get it done, it can't get done!
Why will none of the networks, including Fox, run this documentary?
This will air when Saddam's Trial begins before the Elections. The show trials are before the Election?
